PK--full of sound and fury signifying spoilers
If you haven't guessed, there are going to be possible spoilers for DH in this post. Mainly because Portkey's shipping spoilers thread is flying through the pages with everybody talking about the spoilers. So, you know, there might be DH SPOILERS. I, of course, cannot comment on the reality of these spoilers (who can?) but if you're avoiding them then this post might not be for you.



Well, let's start off with a direct link to the 'spoiler' post. The site is loading slowly, everybody. There's currently over a hundred people on that thread ALONE. And at least one confirmed sock is there, too. ~.^

Okay! And the first response is... someone help me sort this all out...its too much for my brain to handle right now!

you only just signed up here, the source is conveniently friends-locked, that you are lacking details because of your own reluctance, and that you haven't any knowledge of other story aspects perhaps to minimise any chance of contradicting yourself.

A good point. Too bad you ruin it with your next statement. I would also think JK would be a bit more creative with the titles, instead of just 'The Wedding'

Like JKR didn't name a chapter 'The Gaunts'. Or 'Hagrid's Tale'. Still, any port in a storm, right mates? At any rate, other people chime in on these spoilers--agreeing that the titles sound wrong and that The Wedding is too late in the book. Then come the memories from pre-HBP. When the 'fanfic spoilers' came out. And then came true. Cue the angst. And anger.

I don't know about you guys but my faith is slipping away. Fast. Just NOW?

I just wish JK hadn't written H/Hr with such a close bond. It's beyond unsatisfying to have Harry end up with someone less closer to him than Hermione. Because he can never grow close to other people without destroying his previous relationships. NEVER!

Oh somebody help me I think I'm going to explode!!! I went through this same thing for HBP. It was an awful mess. Generally speaking, when somebody explodes it SHOULD leave an awful mess.

WHY would Hermione want to be with a guy that treats her like the garbage at the side of the road?
It just doesn't make sense with her previous characterization...but then again, HBP destroyed the character that was built the first five books...

I think that if DH doess go R/Hr then I think we can all agree that JKR SUCKS at writing romance. [snip When I eventually read these to my daughter I'm going to make sure that she understands that if a boy insults her, makes her cry, uses her, and ignores her for months at a time, that he is not one worth crying over, and definately not one wasting your time on. That she should go for the guy who listens to her ideas (even if he doesn't follow them [tounge-gif]), respects her beliefs and opinions (even if he doesn't agree [tongue-gif]), appreciates all that you do for him (Harry better wake up to this fact in DH or I will be royaly POed), and is a true friend. A fine lesson, yes, but you're going to teach her to be a poor reader, too.

Problem is, I have a feeling or a theory if you could call it, that between OotP and HBP, JKR spent too much time on Mugglenet and Leaky forums and reading OBHWF fics on Sugarquill

I think what aggravates me the most is that I simply don't get JK's intentions if it's R/Hr and Harry/Someone. I mean, if she really thought she could write H/Hr this close and not expect anyone to ship them, I'm sorry, but then we're not the delusional ones. What was her intention with H/Hr then? If Hermione was never meant to mean more to Harry than Ron, why constantly increase her importance? Remember the fish and the barrel? Doesn't shooting it sound like fun?

We take a short break into some 'replace Hermione's name with Ron in H/Hr moments and hahahaha, look it looks like Harry/Ron--we're not wrong! SEE!' fun. And then back to angst and anger.

I feel that if it goes R/Hr then I need something along a 'I'm sorry' from JKR. I know that she really didn't put us down in the IoD but I wasn't that impressed with how she dealt with it either. Why didn't she say at least something about it afterwards? Something in our defense. Did she really mean to put us H/Hr shippers, a good portion of her fan base, down that bad?

If it turns out RHr, I will REMEMBER everything she said in that interview and the whole truth will sink in--that she WAS laughing at us, in the worse way possible, and that will be it. Entitlement much?

But I have one ###### question for JKR. If you were planning on keeping H/Hr platonic, what was the point of making them so ###### close!?

I might swear her off completely. For five books I assumed JKR was an incredible author. Book 6 left me Dazed and Confused. If book 7 is just as bad, I don't want to read anything else by her... This little poster set of a trend of people swearing off JKR. Oh, noes! Sixteen people won't read anything else she ever writes!

Stan--long known to be a bastion of sanity on PK (by us, I mean) pops saying that he's seen a pagescan and it's real. A lot of people don't believe Stan--he's pretty much called a liar. Then he gives them the business. Or, in this case, a picture of the scan that he managed to save. Now, this picture was originally on a foreign language site and deleted by the poster within minutes and to keep anybody from getting into trouble, Stan deletes his too. But other people saved it and I've nabbed it. It's a scan of a chapter-title page with illustration (US).

Please note: I do NOT know where this picture originated. I AM NOT able to comment on the validity of it. This is MERELY a spoiler picture I got from the Harmonians. It will be taken down if, by some chance, I am requested to take it down.

Now, links. The original image. And... copy altered by NAPPA to show why he/she believes it is fake. In fact, NAPPA tells us about that image: I manipulated the the hue and saturation. i don't think the image stan posted was original. The name cropped seemed to suggest there was editing by him or someone else to remove maybe text below. But the thing is that the alignment of the chapter name on the next page is off. I pasted where it should really show, unless there is a reason that the chapter name would be off center. Okay, maybe just me but I thought--well, if the book is open and upside down on a scanner, the pages WOULDN'T line up thanks to the way books are bound. Just me, though. Again, with the real-or-not-is-not-up-to-me thing. Also the shown through text seemed totally unreadable. And later: The artwork looks very much like Marta's. But her site is offline so I can't compare properly. Marta who, I do not know.

Unless I'm seriously mistaken that is not Grandpre. She never drew in a circle like that I don't remember her ever shading in her drawings for the chapters. They were always black and white outlines with the exception of when specific details were needed. But even then, her chapter pics were always simple. This is too detailed to be Grandpre.

Why is it that the next page has the chapter title not in the middle but to the side ?

Or could that be James and Lily? I will be forever skeptical Even after you read the book?

The guy in the picture looks too mature to be Harry, and his hair doesn't look as messy for some reason, and the girl looks older and more mature than Ginny as well.

I don't think that is an actual drawing. If you look, they look too real and GrandPre's are more cartoonish like. GrandPre also uses more shading in faces.

It's sort of like watching a ping-pong match.

There's a brief bit of questioning if James did, or did not, have glasses and if the picture is actually James/Lily. Fun stuff.

I was going to just jump to the end--still twelve pages to go!--but questions come up about Stan's source and the other source. And sources in general.

You said that the spoilers you got were in a foreign language. If you foreign source had the English spoiler, why not post them in English.

Yes. The source (as I understood) got the book from freight leak or something like that. Source is in US, but a new-comer. Reasonably fluent in English, but not much beter than I am. Says, Stan.

I just don't understand the point of being so vague. All this alluding to knowing stuff (like the H/Hr moment) and then not actually specifying. What is the point of even letting us know that you know in the first place if you're not going to post what you know?

You seem pretty fluent to me...? What language was it posted in, if not English?

and I am skeptical of the spoilers due to who the users are and where they seem to be coming from. The stories of how they know these spoilers seem far-fetched and hard to believe.

So, the person who read the book read it in english... but they're not allowed to post spoilers in english... and they're english is not good. My god, how convoluted is that!? These "SOURCES" are getting more annoying by the day.

I was under the impression that this supposed source came about an English copy of the book but wrote out a translation in their native language while posting said picture. I mean, honestly. Can't they just post the translation here and let people get a rough English translation?

I still agree with everyone else that thinks the story of how these posters got their source of spoilers is far-fetched.

So basically you came here to post that you know someone who has the book, and has spoilers posted in their LJ, but because you don't want to be too spoiled before reading the book you aren't going to look at them?

She's putting vague spoilers on her post, and only giving out explicit ones through e-mail. I'm trying to avoid explicit spoilers. "One major character kills another on page 606, totally true!" is okay. "Dumbledore kills Snape!" is not. Says our spoiler-poster.


And so it continues. Again, over 100 people on that thread alone and it's moving FAST. It updated fifteen pages WHILE I WROTE THIS. I'll ETA as needed, I guess.

Well: I think it's a well-orchestrated hoax perpetrated to get revenge for the person who posted all the H/Hr spoilers a few days back, which NAPPA had to clean off the forums. They were all over the place and I feel certain that the person's admission of guilt really made some Herons angry. LOL! 'Fess up, you bastards!

Well a flyby poster named Marty shows up and says 'I know for a fact that the chapter list is real! but the rest is sour grapes! it's all H/Hr!' and everybody reacts the same way! Oh, wait, no they don't. They accept Marty and his information with open arms! Of course they were right all along! See the third thread for the lulz.

The Slightly More Important ETA: The orginal Source of the spoilers has apparently deleted her LJ. I'm asking people who 'know' the source to not discuss the person. If she has real information, I'd rather protect her than out her. The internet is for being anonymous.
