OOTP?
Is there any more wank over the Movie? Or is everyone too busy wanking about DH? I thought for sure that there would be a wankfest over the changes made to the story. Namely the Harry/Hermione scenes.

Dammit. I hope that doesn't happen with Book 7.

Well, there was only two posts about the movie. The rest was all about what the H/Hr shippers will do id if it ends up OBHWF (which is full of lulz). I'll copy and paste the movie comment here in a minute.

The only Harry/Hermione scene I noticed was the ZOMG ATTACK hug when Harry first arrives at Grimmauld Place, but since that's actual book canon I don't think anyone is fussing about it.

I thought she was referring to the Grawp scene that could technically be Harry/Hermione that was changed to be completely Ron/Hermione.

From Portkey...

Alexius:
And the worst thing of all: throughout the entire movie, Harry's role almost became second to Ron Weasley's. Ron somehow became this brave super-friend who was being praised by everyone around him, and yes, also by Hermione. Hermione now somehow seems to be wooed by him, and is openly praising him (COMPLETELY GOING AGAINST CANON)! Ron also seems to have been "squeezed" into the Grawp scene (who seemed more like a troll from the first movie to me, but oh well) where he was "fighting" for the Damsel (Hermione) where Harry was just left there with nothing to say.

No H/Hr moments existed. At all. And somehow, R/Hr was shown in a more "subtle" light reserved for H/Hr. What happened? Where did the H/Hr-filled book go? Where did BUCKBEAK in Headquarters go during Christmas?

Dragoncateliz:
Other than my grievance that it was supposed to be the Harry/Hermione show and it wasn't--I thought the characterization was wrong. Someone said, Harry was supposed to be bitter not lonely, (SO TRUE), and the idea was supposed to be that Hermione brought Harry out of himself and away from his reticence which she DIDN'T, and she was no where near as concernend with Harry as she was. Her 'cho couldn't keep her eyes off you' wasn't happy when said in the book, she was dissapointed and upset about Harry's kissing cho and it can be argued that she purposely, if not subconsciously even sabotaged his relationship with her. Where was Ron's inferiority complex...and you can say, yes 800 page book and yes we needed humor...we could've found humor some place else, we could've had a hint of ron's self-doubt, and HARRY'S heroism, and Hermione's slow gaining of confidence. Maybe if they'd gotten rid of all that R/Hr flirting I dunno' maybe some decent characterization could've been handed out to the audience...

and the writing, eh, 'i must not tell lies' in the grawp scene was totally stolen from Annie and the closing line was the most cliched bit I think I've ever heard...I miss Kloves.

Well, I'm a disgruntled Ron fan who's been sick of having him being reduced to idiot comic-relief in the past 4 movies, so...

It's not shipping related but there's some fairly enthusiastic movie-wank over at FAP on a thread for McGonagall Appreciation.

http://forums.fictionalley.org/park/showthread.php?s=&threadid=129264

I especially love this bit:
What the....? Where was Minerva? I mean seriously? In the book Harry mentioned how important she was to him.....in an indirect way sorta, but still! Where were the stunners? Where was her walking stick? WHERE WAS SHE? Where was her confrontation with Umbrige? I know that she had that 'conversation' with her on the stairs, but where is my firey Minerva? WHY didn't they show her scene with Harry about him wanting to be an auror? I would think that at least would be Harry related enough to include!!! I mean, I know it is obvious that that is the career path he would chose, but in the interest of character development they should have included it. I know she isn't the major character in the books, I mean, it isn't like it's called Minerva and the so-and-so, (although it really should be that way.....) but she is at least somewhat important in that she will be taking over for Dumbledore etc.

Srsly, in the book Minerva gave Harry her biscuits, which are so obviously superior to toast in all ways that it's blindingly obvious to anyone who can read that Hermione is just a dry, crusty fling who is destined to tossed to the ducks aside so that Minerva and Harry can spend their lives together in sweet, buttery love.

I also think there was so much info about the movie out there before the movie itself that people had ample time to wank about it before now. E.g. no Quidditch, Ron's supposedly misogynistic comment to Hermione (which I'm pretty sure there was wank about, months ago, but it seemed like such a non-starter to me), etc.

Salamon2:
"Also, what was up with all the Luna/Neville interaction. Lines that Luna says to Ron in the book, she says to Neville, and Luna and Neville are looking out for one another. That one is a ship JKR flatly said won't ever happen. What is Hollywood smoking?"
Luna loves Ron. What Luna feels for Ron is very different from what she feels for Neville. All weird looks are not Luna's characterization, but TEH EVIDENCE OF TEH ROMANS. Yeah.

"Harry does this entire fake Voldemort possession thing... but he goes on about Love. Well, whose face is the first that we see in the line of images?? Hermione's."
Believe it or not, they call it one of the biggest H/Hr moments and anvil-sized foreshadowing of Harmony.

"Hermione’s brush with death at ministry"
And that's their biggest complaint about the movie, the scene not being there, because of the COUNTLESS theories involving Hermione's Near Death Experience being the sole reason for HBP pairings. I mean Harry being with Ginny to protect Hermione from further injuries (and make Ginny suffer from the hands of DeathEaters as his official girlfriend) and Hermione distancing hersef from Harry to protect her glorious, genious, flawless self after all she suffered for him and saving her own life to sacrifice it for Harry later on.

I think the crew were confused on whom to ship in OOTP. I mean, there's always these weird HHr-type things with the camera lingering extra-long on Emma, or the looks on Ginny's face when Harry's going off with Cho, and then there's the weird Harry/Luna hand-holding thing at the end I heard about (I didn't see the ending; the film died five minutes before the movie was over).
