Yes, Jo is laughing at you.
I guess we should start a post about the (edit) confirmed REAL epilogue going around. SPOILERS and NON-STOP WHINING in the links.

ONTD_trash: Scans in the comments.

spoil_me_dh: Your writing is shit, Jo!

Edit: News sites are talking about the leak now and there's a locked post on spoil_me_dh where the book was scanned showing the dust jacket, colored hard bookcover, copyrights, title and dedications pages. Unless someone decided to fake all that as well as 700+ pages, the leak is real.

Edit^2: A mousy pointed out there is a new lj community: its_a_fake.

Edit^3: There's a plan of mass suicide on JKR's lawn if she doesn't write a Harmoanian ending the book better. (Thanks nekoama!)

Edit^4: A mousy pointed out there's a new picture of the book going around with a certain lj community in the background. Another blow for the FAKE side.

I seriously do not get all this outrage.

As endings go, what the heck is wrong with "... and they all lived happily ever after"?

After eleven years in a cupboard and seven more with this thing hanging above his head, doesn't Harry Potter of all people deserve happily ever after?

HIS NAME IS ALBUS SEVERUS

I saved the photos and scans of the entire TOC, the epilogue, and twelve random pages. I didn't want to get the whole book because I still want some surprises on Friday night, but I'm not sure if there will be any left until then considering the entire book may already be online. Must I give up the wank? I'm not sure if I can. (I am REALLY liking what little I've read. Lots of action!) And according to what I've read, the outline posted on the last Portkey wank appears to match up. Even though the Harmoanians insisted it wasn't true, Ron IS kidnapped and he and Harry destroy the locket together after he returns -- and Harry's wand breaks. OH NOES!

Anyway, the big drama going on right now on LiveJournal at least are the photos of the epilogue. In posts such as this one and this one, people are still insisting that the epilogue isn't true because they think it sucks (even though Snape apparently is a woobie after all). [info]vimeslady is betting all she has in the bank on it. Right now everyone in the community is waiting for the last part of the book to be scanned. I'm not sure why they would believe the new scans and not the old ones, but whatever. Half an hour ago the girl who posted the scans said the epilogue was real, but they have apparently forgotten this ever occurred.

Some of the reactions are just - mind-blowing. I mean, do I think the epilogue is fantastic? Um. No. I think it's sort of cheesy. But it's HARRY POTTER, so I've come to accept the cheese is a factor.

What bothers me, as apparently provided in the scans of the rest of the book? A CERTAIN DEATH.

A death I am NOT surprised about. At ALL. But nonetheless had the most sincere hope would NOT be written, but HAS BEEN.

Books or not, it's a little distressing when a character you think should just be allowed to catch a freaking break dies instead.

Okay.

I'm done.

Off to attempt sanity now.

Dear HP Fans:

Assume Lupin and Sirius had a relationship. That's not hard - you do anyway.

Now, if this is the case, please explain to my why Lupin is not allowed to:

a) be bisexual. Some people like both. Honest.
b) have another relationship after his boyfriend died.

Seriously... if your current SO died, would you never, ever have sex again?

Sheesh.

I honestly don't get it. What exactly were they expecting? A big ansty Hamlet ending that would give all of the eight-year olds who form the bulk of the series' audience PTSD?

The wait in between books is very harmful for the fans because they bizarrely manage to reimagine the series as being high-quality Serious Literature. The writing has not gotten worse. The themes have not gotten cheesier. It was never Faulkner. It's just a fun, sweet, funny kid's fantasy series. It's about love and friendship and courage. Cheese naturally springs forth from such topics, especially when you're writing for kids.

I haven't read the excerpts yet but I'm absolutely 100% certain that the epilogue is real. It's very Rowling and especially, very early Rowling.

I do get the problems with the names. Albus Severus Potter is an awful name whichever way you slice it...and it is slightly weird how all of Harry's kids are named after dead people (I would bet money on sprog number #1 being James Sirius Potter).

But the wank over Rose and Hugo? Come on. They're normal names. What the hell did they expect? Serena Starshine Weasley?

If the 495-page .rar I'm going through at the moment (just finished page 231) is a forgery, then it's the most amazing forgery even. I mean, it looks so real and feels so real and, and so far, I'm enjoying the hell out of it. The unexpected deaths (really-- the one in chapter 4 came out of NOWHERE as far as I'm concerned), the unexpected turns of events, the sheer excitement of it all! I don't think I've been this pleased with reading a Harry Potter book in ages.

I think I'm still the only person on the Internet who hasn't read the epilogue yet.

*giddy anyway*

It's things like this that make me happy that I have Saturday off work and don't go in till 5 on Sunday. :D I can lock myself inside all day with a bowl of popcorn and not have to worry.

Also, read the epilogue. Part of me wishes it was fake so the wanksplosion Saturday will be greater.
