In an extraordinarily bad analogy, a Bloomsbury representative compares the breaking of the HP release/review embargo by American newspapers and suppliers to the Boston Tea Party.

General reaction: OH HELL NO. (Possible spoilers in link.)

We foolishly thought only the internets were in danger, but...could the Potterdammerung result in the next Revolutionary War?

[A Bloomsbury spokeswoman] likened the events in the United States to the Boston Tea Party, a protest by American colonists against Britain in 1773.

"But over here it is blockades as usual, with the embargo being enforced unflinchingly and without exception by all our customers," she said.

I know! I saw that yesterday and I was WTF? The review didn't even have any fucking spoilers. If ANY newspaper should be getting punished, it's The Sun (there's a REASON why they had to edit it like three times). Seriously, in the beginning it goes, "Don't worry, we won't spoil the details for you" but then it gives away the damn ENDING.

All I see is a pathetic attempt for Melissa to try and impress JK.

Leave NYT alone, biatches.

I'd like to know how many of these people who are screaming about the children's laughter being silenced by the NYT review actually think that a lot of children read the NYT's book reviews. Because I'm guessing not many.

The end of a wildly popular children's series was leaked days before its release, despite the mega $$$$ spent on security. How is this not news?

The NYT got so much wank from the Potter heads that it had to publish an editorial explaining itself. Read the comments for some truly scary splooge

http://publiceditor.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/07/19/did-the-times-betray-harry-potter-fans/

The reviewer is compared to Umbridge, a criminal and the Grinch. Oh, and apparently the NYT violated all sorts of journalistic ethics. Some of these people apparently don't read reviews, because they are insisting reviews only come out on the opening date. Since when?
