I shouldn't even need to point this out at this moment but. YES. WE ARE SPOILER FULL OVER HERE. I'd prefer stuff to go behind cuts but, honestly, we're all over the wank, and trying to keep us spoiler-free would require attention span and sobriety which I just don't always have. So, if you're going totally spoiler-free, it'd probably be best to defriend and not read this comm for a while.

Carry on.

LOL. Amazing!!! I'm actually mostly unspoiled. I have vague notions of things, but nothing too specific. But the drama of these people! It's amazing! They act like they have been personally betrayed by JK Rowling because things did not go they way they wanted them to. I love it.

I feel the need for some kind of Potterdammerung bingo card. With 'JKR hates her fans, burn her!!!', 'Ginny is a slut', 'whatever guyz, I'll write my own version', 'Harry told Hermione she was smart on page 364, you can tell that he really loves her', and other such gems.

The post for the HP wank to happen tonight on [info]fandom_wank keeps giving me this error when I try and look at the comments:

Sorry

We're currently working on something. The site will be back up shortly.

I keep getting this yet all other posts I can read the comments too and anon is disabled from posts there. Is this to keep the server from going or is my computer just being the old codger that it is and just not letting me be part of the wank as a mouse. I tried to get a paid account in time but my paypal is being slow in the money transferring.

Anyone know what is going on?

From the HarmonyForever forums, ( http://www.harmonyforever.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2409 ), noted alchemy theorist brown writes "An apology":

I just wanted to come back to HF one last time to apologize to everyone. I made a grave error in judgment believing there was more to JK's ability than there actually was. So I'm very sorry to all of you that I argued with and accused of not having enough faith.

I'm sorry to any and all who I might have convinced to believe again.

The members rally in support to their disproved theorist, and, expectedly, a few of them gratitiously bashes JKR.

thereader: You DON'T need to apologise for seeing depth and beauty in Rowling's work, when that stupid moron was too blind (and dense) to see it for her half-arsed self!

In fact, you're BADLY needed in the fandom now to bring more insight into Rowling's work, the world needs to know just how CRAPPY this author is and how LUCKY she got!

Nathaniel: You know what I think? I think JKR hates us because people like you and all of us saw something better in HP than she ever planned on, and that bothered her, that there were people who had a better grasp on her story than she did. You definitely had a better grasp on HP than JKR.

So, the hidden depths of HP makes JKR a bad author? Sounds strange to me.

Hammergal: Sadly, JKR didn't learn anything from the books on her bookshelf. And obviously her knowledge of alchemy is seriously flawed. Your posts and theories were brilliant and I was one Harmonian who never lost faith and I will forever be disappointed in the last two books. I don't know what happened with JKR, I'd like to believe that she was taken in by the fandom and that her vision was H/Hr but she changed her mind. Too bad she didn't have enough backbone.

Alchemy, the new hot subject for authors to study! The only way to make a good plot.

Bamaslamma29: I absolutely agree with Nathaniel. It must've irked Rowling to no end for people to see more depth and intelligence in her work than what she ever did.

She did not follow alchemy properly, she does not know a THING about real relationships and romance, and she does not know how to write a consistent, intelligent story. She just doesn't. She has amazing imagination, I'll give her that, and sometimes, a funny wit to her, but she just isn't a good author. She just isn't.

The fact that so many here saw more potential in her work than she did simply shows that there is more intelligence on this end than she ever knew or understood herself. That speaks toward HER OWN failings as an author, not ours OR YOURS for seeing what could have been based on what she had written.

I can't believe I wasted so much time debating and reasoning out such amateur, childish drivel either. The theories and plot twists we thought she was going to employ based on what was accidentally written, she simply did not have the talent to do or see herself, so she took a huge dump on her own books and noticeably dumbed them down to the level she thought they'd been on all along.

Not your fault, or anyone else's who saw more worth and intelligence in what she wrote than she herself did. It's just a shame. She could have left such a significant mark, and I think when the hype dies down and people begin to realize based on the ending that the story was not very intelligent after all, they will begin to recognize it as well.

And, just for giggles:

Hope1272: In fact, I have used several elements and thought processes in many Harmony theories/essays to aid in my lessons for my son's homeschooling when it comes to literature.
