Ah-ha! There really is a different version of DH around!
Lysette (Lissy) on the FAP ARGH thread:
http://forums.fictionalley.org/park/showthread.php?s=&postid=1730393#post1730393

What do you all think of Harry picturing Ginny in a wedding gown getting married to another guy?

As IF! Harry was just proving what a little sod he is. Gin-Bot doesn't breathe without his permission. If she did, he would lock her back in her Tower until she got with the program. I think DH!Harry despises weakness. He might have told Ron he liked her because she was tough from having six brothers, but Harry is always disgusted and ignores her whenever Bot shows a sign of weakness or emotion at all. That was why he was disgusted with Hermione, so it would carry over to the Bot. What was he going to tell his best friend, "The ONLY reason I like your sister is that she puts out." Even RON would slug him over that. Good thing Lavender didn't have any brothers when Ron, as we now know, had to punish Hermione repeated over something that happened two years ago. I would have loved it, if Harry informed Ronald that the ONLY reason he liked Ron's sister was because she is easy! I figure Ron would whine and blister and run away. That is another advantage with Ginny, Ron is afraid of Harry, so it is not like Ronald is going to Do Anything, no matter how insulting Harry is towards Ginny's Honor. Besides, Molly wants them married, so told Ronald that if he did anything to jeopardized Ginny's chances, then he had better NEVER try to come back to the Burrow. Molly is mercenary. Molly is the Mom in Reba's song, "Fancy." "You be Nice to Harry, Ginny, and he will take care of you.' Only that Mom wanted her daughter to live, and couldn't see any other way.
(bold mine)

It's one thing to "interpret" the text differently from others, but when you start making crap up to fit your worldview...

I think that this lass has never actually read anything even resembling HP and just makes up wild theories based on her shipmates' posts. Either that or there really is an alternate version of the books... which would actually explain a lot, come to think of it...

Besides, Molly wants them married, so told Ronald that if he did anything to jeopardized Ginny's chances, then he had better NEVER try to come back to the Burrow.

...'Cause that did not come out of the books I read.

I'm glad to see I can leave for a whole week and Lysette will still be wanking. I can't see how someone can take an independant and headstrong female character such as Ginny and turns her into a "bot."

Besides, Molly wants them married, so told Ronald that if he did anything to jeopardized Ginny's chances, then he had better NEVER try to come back to the Burrow.

I don't remember that in canon. QUOTE AND CITATION OR GTFO.

What is this "canon" you speak of? Lysette doesn't need anything as trivial as canon to make her point. The voices in her head tell her everything she needs to know. =P

Harry is always disgusted and ignores her whenever Bot shows a sign of weakness or emotion at all.

Hmmm, now this might seem crazy because I read the actual lines and not between them, but I have a vague recollection of a scene where Harry wanted to comfort Ginny, but didn't because Ron was there. I totally missed the part where Harry was disgusted with her. Finally! My eyes have been opened!

Ron is afraid of Harry, so it is not like Ronald is going to Do Anything, no matter how insulting Harry is towards Ginny's Honor.

Umm, yeah, except that Ron would totally kick Harry's ass.

Gin-Bot doesn't breathe without his permission.

Umm, yeah, except that Ginny would totally kick Harry's ass if he even tried to give her "permission" to do anything.

Besides, Molly wants them married, so told Ronald that if he did anything to jeopardized Ginny's chances, then he had better NEVER try to come back to the Burrow.

Ok, where can I find this version of the book?

Memoryspell48 is like Scromgeour x that Snitch cake at Harry's birthday!

What do you all think of Harry picturing Ginny in a wedding gown getting married to another guy?

I don't know. At first I saw this scene as Harry resigning himself to the fact that Ginny might move on and that he would accept that. I guess I am being too kind to Harry though. I guess he was just being jealous, and probably thinking to himself, "if I can't have her no one can!"....unless it's a really hideous guy that I have never met. My bet is that if Harry had taken over a year to finish his mission in DH, Ginny probably would have started dating someone else. It wasn't much of stretch to have Harry worrying about her moving on.

Because it couldn't POSSIBLY be that Harry, yanno, likes her and the idea of seeing her married off to someone else kind of makes him jealous? Unhappy? *laughs derisively*

Just another bit to show that Harmonians ... just can't read.

That thread on FAP is comedy gold.

What do you all think of Harry picturing Ginny in a wedding gown getting married to another guy?

That line irritated my to no end! No seventeen-year-old boy is going to be picturing any girl in a wedding gown. That was so obviously tacked on to sway the masses and they lapped it up like gaping goldfish. Couldn't she have picked something more realistic, like having a conversation about what love is during a walk? Sometimes, Rowling forgets Harry is a boy and other times, she overcompensates male behavior. Most of her editors have been male right? More proof they were too weak to give her decent criticism.

Darn that JKR! Doesn't she see that it's so much more realistic for a teenage boy to ponder the meaning of love during a walk? And JKR's editors? They're pathetic! They hid under their desks every time they saw her.

Which reminds me, did anyone else get the feeling that Ginny doesn't consider Luna to be a "threat" since she'd rather he go with her than Cho?

Dingdingding! We might have a winner!

Why not volunteer one of the guys, if she's so unsure of her man staying faithful?

Or not. *headdesk*

Ginny is a skank and Harry has no respect for her, her treats her like garbage.

I must fail at reading since I don't remember this happening. I do remember Harry yelling at Hermione though and scaring her. As for the rest of the thread, it was...bizarre in places.

I thought Molly rocked during the Battle of Hogwarts and showed exactly why she's an order. Protective, loyal...the list goes on

ShutUpMalfoy is entirely baffling me. I shall call them "SUM" from here on, because --- well, that's a tangent. Emphasis and lesson description by me.

Lesson from SUM #1: "I understand more about Horcruxes than the author."

The big “secret” that JKR had up her sleeve the whole time was that Harry (or his scar) was a one of Voldemort’s horcruxes. [...] Now, when Voldemort tries to invade Harry’s mind, Harry’s power to love is what prevents Voldemort from taking permanent residence; it just something he cannot stand. So why in heck can the Horcrux survive inside of Harry’s head? [...]

Lesson from SUM #2: "Being able to love needs a reason. I still know more about the magic in the book than the author." (the reason cannot have anything to do with his parents, I suppose?)

Of course, it would have been nice if JKR had actually explained what it is that gives Harry the power to love, but I don’t think the POV that she has taken allows her to explain it. Assuming that Voldemort can be inside of Harry, maybe that is what makes him so emotionally dense. He cannot understand love because he is carrying around this poison inside himself that interferes with his ability to mature emotionally.

Lesson from SUM #3, which is stolen from Lysette: "Harry is dense and emotionless because I can't read he loves Ginny." (Also, where can I meet that oh-so-deep Cho described below?)

Naturally, if Harry doesn’t understand what love is, how can he understand the nature of his relationships with Ginny, Cho, Hermione, and Luna? Because he is emotionally stunted he thinks Ginny is a great girlfriend because she is willing to be snogdoll and wombunit. Cho gets treated like crap because he doesn’t know how to deal with a 3D character with a mind, needs, and wounds of her own. It takes him seven years to realize the depth of his relationship with Hermione. He can’t see the romance in the making that is going on with Luna.

Lesson from SUM #4: An example on how to take something out of context and fail use it to prove your point.

Now, it could be more complicated than that. Horcruxes acquire more power over a person as they become more emotionally attached to them, and Harry was in very deep into his. So …

Okay, yeah, yeah... *gets mop*

It also teaches guys to only like girls (as girlfriends) because of the way they look, not because you have anything in common with them!

...Because it's not like Harry and Ginny both like Quidditch or anything like that. And they don't both have personal connections to Voldemort or similar personalities or anything, either! Also, Harry and Hermione have SO MUCH in common - I mean, they both love to study, right? And they both care a lot about freeing the House Elves!

Seriously, what?

Voldemort: Da Man
(Anonymous)
2007-08-05 02:58 am UTC (link)
Voldemort has a fangirl!

Is the chest monster a reflective of Harry’s connection to Voldemort?

I really so ever deeply want to believe so. That chest monster just makes no logical sense to me otherwise. So, go Voldemort - shipping Harry/Hermione and getting Harry/Ginny together. You are da man!

And the great wisdom continues to pour in.

JKR has tried too hard to sell this pairing to us and it hasn't worked.

Oh no! 20 insane people who hear voices talking to them hate H/G! How will JKR ever recover?

Is the chest monster a reflective of Harry’s connection to Voldemort?

Probably. Voldemort being in Harry's dreams and thoughts so often probably had more negative effects on him than he knows. Ginbot is awful, but maybe Harry got a little cracked from the connection with Voldemort. Or Voldemort planted the idea to go after Ginny in Harry's mind resulting in the chest monster. This is quite a fun question.

Wait a minute, Voldemort told me he was a Harmonian and now you're telling me he's responsible for H/G. Jeez, you think you know a guy....

Canonocity is a mark against the ship, not for it.

There's the non-logic we all know and love (except for the "love" part).

Lysette has more to offer.

But this ONLY works if the girl is bright, shinny, hard, emotionless PLASTIC. If the girl is not a Plastic Barbie Doll, then the girl could be wishing and hoping for a million years, but that Captain of the Football Team or the Rock Star is NEVER going to know that girl is alive. If you're like, say, a Hermione or a Luna, you better settle for whatever "guy" you can get because otherwise you are going to end up with NOTHING. Plain girls can ONLY get whatever guy will actually have them, and they should be grateful every day that he did save them from a life of being alone NO MATTER how he treats her.

Somebody's been watching too many Molly Ringwald movies.

The first one is a lovely little "skit" that demonstrates the effect of banging one's head repeatedly into a wall while on 10 different kinds of drugs.

Just a little skit...using the Faramir/Eowyn scene in LotR.
Unpleasant fellow: Ginny, did you know that I would love you, even if you were Mrs. Harry Potter?
Ginny: (suddenly changes) I stand on the tallest tower of Hogwarts, and I feel changed. I will no longer be a robot, but I shall live my own life. (Looks at unpleasant fellow) Nor do I wish to become Mrs. Harry Potter anymore.
Unpleasant fellow: (smiles)
Ginny: If we were to start dating, everyone would say: "Oh there's a unnamed fellow who's tamed a Weasley! Wasn't there any other girls to choose from?"
Unpleasant fellow: I'd choose you over them all (removes hood)
Ginny: Draco!
Draco: Ginny.
(they snog, and Harry sees them)
Harry: NOOOOO! Ginny was my best source of comfort!

The next one is courtesy of ladyknyght.

This song is from Harry's POV after the Crapilogue.

"Time for Me to Fly" by REO Speedwagon

Random lyric sampling

IYou got me stealin' your love away
'Cause you never give it
Peeling the years away
And we can't relive it
I make you laugh
And you make me cry
I believe it's time for me to fly

You said we'd work it out
You said that you had no doubt
That deep down we were really in love
Oh, but I'm tired of holding on
To a feeling I know is gone
I do believe that I've had enough

I've had enough of the falseness
Of a worn out relation
Enough of the jealousy
And the intoleration

And now it's time for Harry to Fly.

How could I be happy for Harry in the epilogue, when I think he is saddled with a 'worn out relation'?

Beautiful stuff, I know. But what's this? There's more?

Panic! At the Disco

"I Write Sins Not Tragedies"

Oh, well imagine, as I'm pacing the pews in a church corridor,
and I can't help but to hear, no I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words:
"What a beautiful wedding! What a beautiful wedding!" says a bridesmaid to a waiter.
"And yes, but what a shame, what a shame, the poor groom's bride is a whore."

I'd chime in with a "Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.
I'd chime in, "Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?!"

Oh! Well in fact, well I'll look at it this way, I mean technically our marriage is saved
Well this calls for a toast, so pour the champagne, pour the champagne!

So, I couldn't stop myself from posting these lyrics,

And to top it off, we have this lovely number.

and if we're suggesting new thread tunes...

"Conquest"-the White Stripes

Conquest
He was out to make a conquest
Didn’t care what would’ve done
Just as long as he won
The prize

Conquest
She was just another conquest
Didn’t care if I was broke
Love to him was a joke
Till he looked into her eyes

And then in the strange
where things happen
The roles were reversed from that day
The hunted became the huntress
The hunter became the brave

Conquest
Now you know who made the conquest
She with all her female guile
Led him helpless down the isle
She had finally made a conquest

ahahah ahaaaah ahahhh
ahahah ahaaaah ahahhh
ahahah ahaaaah ahahhh
ahahah ahaaaah ahahhh
oooohoohoohoohooooo

And then in the strange
where things happen
The roles were reversed from that day
The hunted became the huntress
The hunter became the brave

Conquest
Now you know who made the conquest
She with all her female guile
Led him helpless down the isle
She had finally made a conquest

oooohoohoohoohooooh
ahahah ahaaaah ahahhh
ahahah ahaaaah ahahhh
Conquest….

how perfect is that?? Probably too perfect, Jack White must've done it on purpose. ON PURPOSE, I TELL YOU!

The saddest thing about the current state of VENOM ( and ARGH in particular) is that it slowly becomes boring. Utterly, helplessly, nauseatingly boring. In the past it at least used to be a bit fun with all their craziness and frothing at the mouths. But how many times you can post the same pile of shit without becoming repetitive? Plus they have always taken themselves waaay too seriously but now it's becoming embarassing. Femnisism' defenders my ass. And this is a bit sad watching previously sane and coherent people like perceval joining the loony band and angsting about HP not becoming an "epic" equal to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". BARF.

See, I read that in the first place as "what do you all think of Ginny picturing Harry in a wedding gown getting married to another guy?" and my major reaction was "I'm surprised, but not that surprised."

ROTFL Someone alerted ARGH-bunch that we ridicule them here and now the twits are pissing themselves that they are mocked for being "free-thinkers" and "daring to have strong and diffrent opinions" or "not kissing JK' ass".
The idiots still dont get it, do they? They may hate H&G/Ginny/Weasleys/DH/HBP/whatever till they turn blue and burst. I dont like H&G either. But their wankery is so laughably over the top that sometimes I think they keep posting from psych ward. At least some of them with the queen of lunatics akka Lysette as a prime example.

I just love how delusional Lysette and the others are. Apparently Harry is a complete moronic numbskull deserving of death and torture just because he dared to have hormones like every other 16-year old boy, even though he willingly sacrificed himself to death to allow others to live happily, when he could have fled as Aberforth suggested. Before judging Harry, why don't they look at their own lives? Wasting all their free time wishing death/torture/rape on fictional characters. Pathetic!
