Dark Rune's Positive Harmony Thoughts
Some of you have already seen this, but it hasn't actually been featured in an entry yet. [info]camillabloom, my monster in arms, brought it to my attention.

Dark Rune says:
ETA: Fandom Wankers, welcome to HF! Feel free to register to the board at any time. If you're going to be promoting HF's posts elsewhere, at least have the common courtesy to show yourselves.

DarkRune needs to get together with Vanceone and let him explain that he banned HF members for linking and quoting posts. Said it was 'plagiarism.'

Anyway, the point of this thread is for the Harmonians to affirm each other in their faith in Harmony. Positive thoughts, says DarkRune, then launches into a bitter, paranoid rant. A few of my favourite quotes, and it was so hard to pick them:

Our logic and reasoning are as sound as they were pre-HBP. In fact, HBP added more clues between the lines that optimistic and keen-eyed Harmonians here have unearthed.

-------

Given that Harmonian arguments are generally far too sophisticated,
intelligent, and coherent for VOMITers to comprehend (see the Holes
threads for examples of this startling phenomenon, also known as "The
Anti-Logic, Anti-Canon OBHWF KneejerkaWeasley Defense Mechanism" or
A.S.S.H.A.T. Syndrome), they need to resort to a higher authority, no matter how untrustworthy this authority may be.

-------

And that is what I miss the most: respect. Respect for us, as human beings. Respect that we deserve.

-------

It isn't over until the last page of the last book has been read. And reread. And marked for anvils and perused for subtle hints. And thoroughly analyzed. And intelligently discussed. And insightfully interpreted. All within the context of the series, of course.

Responses are just as positive and happy!

Nymphe: With all of the brainpower we have, we should be able to
figure out most of what Rowling has in mind for HPO. I say, let's make
Rowling nervous!

Herminia: You see, I - like all of you - had made a great
emotional investment in the lives of these characters...particularly in the
lives of Harry, Hermione, and Ron. I felt as though I'd seen them grow
up, and I'd quite literally grown up alongside them. To see their
characters twisted and contorted to fit into the OBHWF mold was disgusting.

hammergal: I discount the IOD now. Don't pay it a bit of
attention. Haven't set foot in mugglenet or TLC since then and I don't miss
those sites at all. Never enjoyed them much before, always thought that
many of the ones that posted there were immature, silly kids with no
clue whatsoever about what JKR was really writing.

yxs</b:>Eméde: For some herons that is not enough, for those we have
to dissappear from the earth on the most painful way. No matter we
accept or deny the fact that H/Hr has sunk in canon people will hate us
because we simply exist.

unifilar: It took a direct shot from the author to totally
discredit us. Do you realize how rediculous that is? We were that strong.
That the ultimate step had to be taken to shot down Harry/Hermione.
Pathetic, if you ask me.

bamaslamma29 (aka our very own TL;DR mouse):
As in life, I think everyone should be allowed to be who they are and
see what they will, and should not have to conform to what the
"majority" (or who thinks they are the "majority") believes just to be
"respected".

Anti-Logic, Anti-Canon OBHWF KneejerkaWeasley Defense Mechanism = A.S.S.H.A.T.

Wha....?

Wouldn't it be AAOKWDM, or ALACOBHWFKJWDM?

Is that an invitation to go around and be civil and nice and share anything we might find nice about H/Hr? Because damn, I got the people on my flist compiling a list as we speak. Maybe I should send it around to them with some flowers.

Yeah. Um, good job, Dark Rune, you're undoing all the good that Ana Christina has wrought. :(

Respect that we deserve.

Er, no. That post you made, Dark Rune, shows that you don't deserve any respect. At all. "You are a mean! girl!"

Gaaah. Normally I go about trying to be polite about the Harmonians and not generalize because a) it's not nice and b) they can't say I do (and be right about it, anyway), but that sort of thing really just makes me want to go on a long diatribe about how idiotic they all are.

Our logic and reasoning are as sound as they were pre-HBP. In fact, HBP added more clues between the lines that optimistic and keen-eyed Harmonians here have unearthed.

The funny thing is that it's all true!
Their logic is as sound as pre-HBP: completely broken.
HBP indeed contained many clues to find. Especially for the optimistic and keen-eyed Harmonians. So optimistic, you could detonate every nuclear warhead ever built and they'd claim they'll be just fine. And no one doubts that they're keen-eyed - it's just that they don't have a clue what the stuff they're seeing means.
Aside from that, lots of clues, like Hermione saying that Harry is fancyable. (Fanciable? No idea.) Who can not believe in Harmony with clues like these?

Haha, I need to spork. For my vendetta against the One Who Saw Through My Mask.

I don't really care about their respect. I don't care about the "respect" of those who don't act as if they deserve it themselves, no offense.

Not saying anything, not saying anything ...

Besides this is all online. No one really knows each other anyway. I say ship what you want, and see whatever clues you saw before, and don't change simply because some online person you don't even know thinks you're "delusional".

Okay! That sounds good to me, too!

As in life, I think everyone should be allowed to be who they are and see what they will, and should not have to conform to what the "majority" (or who thinks they are the "majority")

Er, no, people who thought it would be R/Hr and H/G are definitely in the majority. Most people who write slash and rarepairs thought that way as well.

believes just to be "respected".

We can "respect" you, then. Since it isn't the same as respect.

Whether or not they "respect" me is no skin off my nose.

Don't worry, after that weird thing you went off at me on about pretending to be someone else, I actually don't "respect" or respect you.

Should they act decently? Should they respect others opinions, whether or not they agree? Sure they should, as we should. But neither side is going to change, and we're always going to butt heads because we see differently.

Er, so that means everyone should just go ahead and be rude to everyone else? No, sorry, that's stupid.

That's just my opinion. No offense intended. I just think we should not put so much stock in what other "fandoms" think of ours.

OMG. WTF. PATINKIN. "OTHER FANDOMS' WOULD BE, LIKE, DOCTOR WHO OR CCS OR DISCWORLD. "H/HR" IS NOT A FANDOM, SO PLEASE STOP USING THE WORD "FANDOM" AS A SYNONYM FOR "SHIP".

I just don't get it. Why do they keep doing this to themselves and their ship? They remind me of the annoying kid in school who deliberately picks fights with the big kids and gets the shit beat out of him/her.

It's like they are a broken record that keeps skipping to the beginning, 'cause this song and dance we've heard over and over. And I can't believe they haven't been driven underground after all this wank. It's like they enjoy being the laughing stock of the fandom.

Part of me doesn't know whether to feel sorry for the sane H/Hr shippers or annoyed that they haven't done more to shut the Harmoanians up.

What? No, it's not the fact that you ship something, it's that you ship something and are so fucking crazy about it.

It's so stupid, cause in the Lost fandom, when you have an actual triangle like Jack/Kate/Sawyer, no one goes this crazy over it, reading between the lines and whatnot. Dude, I ship Sun/Sawyer for fuck's sakes, and the two have had like, what, 5 minutes screentime together, tops, but I don't freak out on everyone saying "You're not reading seeing between the lines, how stupid are you!?GAWD!!"

And it's just this sense of entitlement that they have that's really fucking annoying, like JKR owes them something. You know what, JKR owes no one nothing. I'm sorry, but as long as she's breathing, I'm happy.

You missed my favorite quote:

The amount of evidence backing up H/Hr increased with the release of HBP ("fanciable than ever", Harry reacting negatively, without explanation, at the thought of Hr/R, the lack of emotional involvement in H/G, the overall abusive viciousness of Hr/R, the OOCness of all the characters)

I have nothing to say to that. I mean, if they actually think that H/Hr got more support than ever in HBP - well, first of all, they don't really think that, because if they did they'd be celebrating and not doing these bitchy wanky rants, but that's not the point. But if they do actually try to convince themselves that they believe that, then they're not even reading the fucking books at this point. I shouldn't be surprised by this shit any more. Wow.

always thought that many of the ones that posted there were immature, silly kids with no clue whatsoever about what JKR was really writing.

unifilar: It took a direct shot from the author to totally
discredit us. Do you realize how rediculous that is? We were that strong. That the ultimate step had to be taken to shot down Harry/Hermione. Pathetic, if you ask me.

Yeah, the only thing more pathetic is that you still keep whining.

I find it odd the way the Harmonians keep going back and forth between "JKR is an evil talentless h0r! She sunk our ship!" and "JKR is a writer of brilliance and subtlety who will eventually reveal us to have been right all along." I guess expecting consistency from these folks is asking too much of them, though.
