SLUTWANK! From wank report. On ARGH (something about hating H/G - ask ![[info]](http://www.journalfen.net/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} sheep), Corbin Dallas states that something he hates about H/G is that there is no canon sex scene. Low-key sniping ensues (and Lysette makes a post without comparing HP to anything mad).Meruhesae, however, decides to take things to the next level by calling Ginny a slut - always a good move. And here I thought you lot DIDN'T believe that Harry sees Ginny as merely a sex object? Well, not surprising some people did think they had sex since they apparently never talked during their little outings--nice to know that Harry thinks Ginny's mouth is good for something. What else could they have been doing? Of course, the fact that Ginny was so quick to (apparently) jump in the sack with Harry and her crude remarks about Ron's "experience" suggests to me that she had to have been getting it on with Dean, too, so perhaps Harry's jealousy of only wanting Ginny to perform slutty acts with him was well-founded. [/sarcasm] It's too bad the mods discouraged us from using We didn’t call Ginny a slut; Icky did as a thread title. Perhaps What About Jenny's Romantic Walk? would be a suitable alternative? You'll have to forgive my snarkiness. I'm pregnant and moody. GilyAnn then forgets the all-important H/G shipper Rule for Happiness: namely, Do Not Look or Even Think About ARGH. ( Ginny's remark about Ron's experience are about kissing, KISSING, she's not saying that Ron needs to get a blow job or nor does it suggest that she's giving free blow jobs. ) The ARGHers behave in exactly the mature, intelligent way one would expect from people who compare H/G to Hitler/Eva Braun. They troll her journal. Meruhesae returns! ( I was being SARCASTIC, hence my use of [/sarcasm]. ) AND ON. |

A Petit Exchange Full of Much Fail Over on A.R.G.H. at Ye Olde FAP, Lysette is up to her old hyjinks- but this time, it really takes the cake. Her comparison is incredibly unique. Since it's been almost a year since they were active, the brief history: gloatation is an OBHWF sockpuppet who quietly catalogued H/Hr shippers' assertations and predictions for a couple years before HBP, then leaked the LJ during the HBP aftermath. gloatation has a major axe to grind. But damnit, they find funny stuff. Feb 16: The return of Gloatation is about current Harmonian predictions. Par for course glurge. You all know how those go.I'm mostly pointing to the second post, though. Feb. 18: Everything I Ever Needed to Know About Romance… ...I learned from the Holes thread at Harmony Forever on Valentine's Day! Read and weep over how JKR is destroying the future marriages of our children. It's all very personal and angry, but hands-down, the most hysterical quotation is this: Flucias: I have often rationalized away the Heron arguments as made by pretty much kids, children who have had no clue as to what love really is. Ah, we can't fault them; they are clueless, having had no real or meaningful experience. It was alarming to discover that quite a few of the people sprouting that rubbish are adults. Why do *I* have to do everything??! Yoinked directly from mousey on wank report: Still mining the OotP promotional pics for her "visual arguments" against H/G, Anise continues to bring Teh Funneh. The thread page is thus: Scroll down to find Anise's latest material! (http://forums.fictionalley.org/park/sh The particular example is from this: I'll bet you a skrillion dollars that [film!HBP] won't[be chock full of H/G shippiness]. (What do you mean, that's not a real number??)But here’s why: when we talk about "shippiness," we’re not really talking about the fact that two characters kiss, go for "walks" by the lake, or an in a relationship. We’re really talking about a certain way of interpreting the way in which a relationship is portrayed. And the reason this is the true definition, I think, is that we honestly don’t know how any of the relationships will end in DH. We’ll know once we’ve read the book. After that, shippiness will probably take on yet another definition. I just "love" how she takes on the responsibility of being the True Arbiter of Shippiness. By the time HBP comes out, however—-and, in fact, by the time the principal photography really even gets underway—-everyone will know how the series ends, including people who haven’t read any of the books. Old Order Amish living in a cave may avoid knowing the ending, but I doubt that anyone else can. We’ll all know how H/G turns out. And knowing how H/G ends, the way it’s portrayed in HBP will accurately reflect exactly what happened. But it won’t be “shippy,” since “shippiness” in its current definition contains an implied argument that the ship in question will be the final, true, genuine ship. We’ll all know better by then; we’ll know that and why and how it failed. There isn’t going to be much point in squeeing about a kiss once we know that Harry later learned he wasn’t in his right mind at the time. Sorry… well, no, I’m not… but I’m all through pretending that this won’t be the ending of H/G. If I had ten thousand dollars lying around the house, I would happily bet it on a no-H/G ending. I'd take that bet! There's more pseudointellectual rambling in the post, as is customary for Anise, and it may be mined for wankage, but I'll just cut to my latest favorite fit of self-aggrandizing posturing: Ginny’s role has been written differently in the films from canon. There’s absolutely no way to deny that. But this is the reason that understanding authorial control over the films is vital to understanding what’s really happening with H/G. Actually, I honestly think that if everyone had gone to film school and taken a class about film adaptations, we would not even be having these H/G arguments. In fact, why do *I* have to be the only one who does research around here?? Let’s have someone else pick up this challenge—-interview the scriptwriting teacher at your local film school! All bolded emphasis is mine, of course. For a bit of insight into the trigger for her latest delusions, she later makes a post with this gem of wisdom for the TRUE determiner of final canon--in fact, she's been beating this horse a lot lately: Well, I do expect to see scenes in the film that show some kind of interaction between Harry and Ginny; I'm not trying to say that there won't be any, understand. The main thing we know right now that is significant is that we've seen Harry pics, Ron pics, Hermione pics, Harry and Hermione pics, Trio pics, Harry-and-a-character-made-up-for-the film pics, Umbridge pics, Dumbledore pics, group photo of the entire DA pics, Trelawney pics, McGonagall pics, Harry/Cho pics, Snape pics, Sirius pics, Bella pics, Neville pics, Neville-and-his-plant pics, Draco pics, Goyle pics, Luna pics, Harry-and-Luna pics... and no H/G pics. No solo Ginny pics, either. If examples of these two pics come out tomorrow-- as they certainly could-- we would still have seen ALL THESE PICS before seeing them. If these scenes that showed Harry and Ginny interacting in some way were shot (and I do think that they were, although all of them may not have been,) then why NOT release something from them? HBP? Novel by JK Rowling? Who needs it?! *squeaks* And to add to the original wank report from the anonymouse, here's another little gem Anise has added: I want to see some [pro-HG] arguments that are constructed without violating the most basic rule of logic, or that do not rely on the straw man technique... *snip* I'm going to start MAKING UP pro-H/G arguments soon and posting them, to show y'all what I mean. Heh. Get some popcorn - this oughta be good. ETA: Although apparently it was HIGHLY significant to the future of H/G that Goyle had a promo picture released but Ginny hasn't (as seen in this post from Anise): MORE new photos from OotP, more Harry, more Draco, more Goyle, and still NO GINNY and NO H/G!! This is really starting to get ridiculous. I'm starting to honestly think that maybe all of Ginny's book scenes really weren't filmed. I still can't believe that there's no Harry-Ginny interaction of any kind in the film, though, since there actually was some in the book. So that begs the question: why haven't any pics from it been released? ...now that it's been cleared up that the Goyle picture is actually from GoF, suddenly it's not important any more. Thus sayeth Anise: And I've said it before and I'll say it again... when we're wrong, we admit it. We're building a case for our point of view, namely, that H/G was an awful relationship, and, for a lot of us, that it will not start up again in DH or be the final pairing. Our case is no good unless we ourselves know its strengths and its weaknesses. Actually, if we had to have a weakness, this one is the kind I'd want to have, as it makes no difference one way or the other to the case against H/G if we had a photo of Draco and Goyle from OotP at this point or not. Harmony on the stock market? Ummm. Yeah. It's been over what? Year and a half now since HBP? I am glad to report that they are slowly (VERY slowly) working their way through sinking of their ship. We've seen the Shock, and we've seen the Denial, and finally, they have arrived to the third stage - Bargaining. Behold what would you give up to make H/Hr happen? thread. Not a big wank as yet, but very tasty. So far the offers include: The first born (but of course!) every book in the entire world and never read anything bu HP again chocolate (I thought they all hated it anyway) His Dark Materials NOT give up a pick-up truck, but would let JKR ride in it the rest of this season of House, give up watching Bones, Scrubs, and Prison Break, younger sister (but admitted that it is no sacrifice) reading spoilers beforehand Orlando Bloom (are people tradable?) Ipod, Internet and dogs, (the three things she cherishes most next to God) and family, school and friends (apparently, yes) LOTR all material possessions a month of salary singing California by Darren Hayes or A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum & Annie Lennox all other ships entire collection of BPAL and Possets perfumes "Doctor Who" obsession of Top Chef... Though admittedly, some insist that there is no need to give up anything (wait, it is not yet a symptom of sanity) because Harmony is inevitable anyway. Yep. So, get your popcorn. We still have the stages of Guilt, Anger, Depression and Acceptance for our entertainment, hopefully before the next book comes along. |

I went offline over Christmas, and found my inbox stuffed with two pages of spammy comments from outraged Danemma fans and their vindictive Rupertemma enemies, all over a six-month-old post. (Most of the Page Two comments and all of the Page Three comments.) Do you remember Angelslave, the Danemman psychologist/pscyhiatrist/doctorite? She and her friends are on the warpath. For instance, HOW DARE YOU!!!!Some of the spammers state up front that they're teenagers, so at first I thought that they should just be ignored, but then it turned out that the instigators were adults, they were trolling another comm: ![[info]](http://www.journalfen.net/img/community.gif){kind=small} spitting_image, and at least two of them figured they should get Journalfen memberships for their services. Oh HP fen... Grabbed from wank_report. This is a week old, so the wank has pretty much stopped, but that's no reason not to post this. The main action takes place on Yahoo!group Pottersplace3. (The comm is public, so the links should work). Oh where to begin. Well, the wank seems to have started due to discussion generated over the story Winter Solace. Don't bother reading it, as the wank has nothing to do with it. It all really begins with this post by Keith, discussing H/G and the character of Hermione. It's in this post that he mentions the message board Dark Lord Potter henceforth known as DLP. This mention brings DLP members out of the woodwork, as well as discussion about the actions of some DLP members. Enter Vash with TL;DR greetings from DLP. There's some scuffling between DLP people and non-members and then the gloves come off. With good reason, Keith responds. For note, Keith = Kinsfire. And things explode. Also, Keith is calling in the lawyers. Some are confused. After all, it's just the Intarweb! Or is it? From there, we have the usual posts: I'm leaving, All for the lulz, Just stop already, and LOL legal threats? Meanwhile, Kinsfire takes it to DLP. And there's even a separate thread on the PP3. I'm sure there's a lot more backstory to this, so if you know it, feel free to post about it. ETA: For note, you do have to be logged into Yahoo to see the messages. OH NOES EMERSON This is all over clairvoyant_wank but needs a proper airing here (and while not specifically H/Hr, that old wank is brought up so we'll stay in the cornfield this time around). In the beginning, there was Lumos, an HP convention in Las Vegas. At Lumos, there was a panel about slash and het. At said panel, a boy dressed up as Harry and a boy dressed as Draco (or at least a Gryffindor and Slytherin) got up and started riffing about why they're constantly being paired up. Some found it amusing, some found it amusing then irritating, some wished they'd just shut up. From my reading it appears security got them to leave, and it was over. UNTIL PEOPLE FOUND OUT IT WAS EMERSON ZOMG. Emerson's a public face of fandom, you see, so he needs to grow up and stuff. None of this hanging with Melissa of TLC and being a totally brain-dead JKR apologist/fan poodle (bonus gem in that comment: oh, for slash-only news sites, cos we need a slashers vs. het fen debate again!), or somehow making the H/Hr thing relevant again, thus Emerson = a dink. And he better not fucking be walking around the whole time like he thought he was Bono or some shit like that. BONUS: Eeyore is unclear on the concept, Day Eleventy Billion.
