12:35a - GameFAQs Castlevania wank
To understand this wank, you need to some background. The Castlevania fan community in general has been wanking on and off about this and related subjects for two years now, so here's the general run-down.

Basically, back in 1997 the Castlevania series got a great new game from a new producer Koji Igarashi (or IGA) called Symphony of the Night. Everyone loved it. Some other games came out, four noticeable ones being Legends, Circle of the Moon, and the N64 ones. Pretty much everyone agreed that other than CotM, all of them sucked. However, they had their fans. Legends was also noticeable for having a female Belmont AND for setting her up as the first Belmont. A bit later, IGA made another few games for the GBA, one of which was all right but considered sucky and one of which was awesome. He then makes a game that says 'no, Sonia wasn't the first Belmont, this other guy was' and takes Legends, CotM, and both N64 games out of the official timeline. (By this time, he is executive producer and in complete control of the series.) Many fans didn't like this move. Others did. And so they fought about it endlessly.

By now the idea has been accepted (which much grumbling) from the major CV fan communities, but they still flare up from time to time. Like here. As is said, IGA received a lot of flack for taking the one female Belmont out of the timeline and for making those comments. The other reasons as for why Sonia needed to be taken out are generally ignored. Of course, whenever someone makes a post to this effect, everyone jumps on it to either whine about IGA or whine about the whiners who are whining about IGA.

I jump in at the end, so that's why it's here.
