7:51p - Being the adventures of an icon community...
All was peaceful in the land of digimon_icons. People posted what they wanted with no need of explanation, there was icon love and admiration, and a jolly good time was had by all.
But lo! What have we here but noirraven, who came unto the land to darken our fair horizon. It started innocuously at first; ![[info]](http://www.journalfen.net/img/userinfo.gif) noirraven comments to a flood of specific character icons by someone. jlarinda responds with a joke, taken entirely too seriously by noirraven. An opinion, regardless of how it's worded, isn't enough for wank.
Harken, my friends, to what happened soon afterwards. Unsatisfied with a single comment, noirraven made a separated post with this to say:
"(Bit of a warning here. I'm a rude, crude, evil individual, who likes nothing more than to be right and honest. Some of the crap I post, may offend. Deal with it. While my posts might be"agressive/negative" depending on how you react, my replies will usually be "acceptable" and sometimes even nice. However, I'm not changing myself for an LJ community so if you don't like someone who's not afraid to express themselves, kick me out now I guess... Though I wish you wouldn't.)"
My word, but it seems this young lass fancies herself a revolutionary. One would expect icons of evil digimon committing unspeakable deeds of ultraviolence. She follows this with a tl;dr explanation that would be better suited on her own journal. A highlight, as quoted:
"However, is it just me or is everyone else getting sick of all these digidestined/tamer and augumon/gabumon icons? Never fear, the only icons I'll be posting, is DIGIMON. As in, DIGITAL MONSTERS. Which the shows were all about. (Not the humans and their emo moments.) I will never post a human being from Digimon here, unless they're somehow fused/"digivolved" in to some Digimon and/or if I can't get them out of the shot. (Augumon and Gabumon will probably never get the gift of being one of my icons, for they're overrated. However, their "cousins" and subspecies will be featured in some of my future posts.)"
Much to the disappointment of your narrator, the icons are naught but images of Impmon with unfunny snarky text (and one Ogremon and Culumon).
Soon enough, our good citizens pointed out that the humans are just a wee bit necessary for the show, and noirraven pulled out this stellar quote: "Yes, one too many pedophiles find these KIDS desirable. XD." Your friend and humble narrator asked about the necessity of such a rant on an icon community, winning a rebuttal that reeks of "I'm such a badass! Look at how badass I am with my brutal honesty! PAY ATTENTION TO ME!"
Truly, your narrator's eyebrow shot up a la Stephen Colbert at the detection of wank.
Not to be left out, others join in on the fray. Various points are made at the OP's attitude, and at each turn the OP snarls and bites back with all the fervor of an overdefensive wanker. Famira's reasonable response is rewarded with "Greetings controller of thoughts" (o noes! teh thought police!) and "who the hell are you?" (ignoring the fact that noirraven seems to be a complete unknown in the fandom herself). famira responds with a bit of "brutal honesty" of her own, which noirraven apparently couldn't take. noirraven snarks back, unable to detect her own hypocrisy, and calls famira an underling. But, when called on the nonsensical "underling" comment (and your humble narrator poking at her with her own flaws in logic), the OP backpedals and says it's her own "cynical brand of humor."
Meanwhile, geleios addresses the attitude problem again, and again the OP slings out the "pedophile" accusation: "I'm fucking sick of seeing all these pedophiles whoring Digidestined/Tamer icons."
Don't you know? If you have icons of cartoon kids, you're a pedophile! And if you make icons of them and share them on a community made for them, you're a pedo pimp! O noes! Your narrator is disappointed that their furry comment went ignored, but doesn't hesitate to bring the logic flaws up again in another thread.
Finally, noirraven claimed to retreat, but said that she would do another icon update. Surely this will continue!
