Emotional Manipulation Law
Inspired by a conversation here:http://www.journalfen.net/community/i_wank/3348.html

The Emotional Manipulation Law: When debating the party that brings up a personal tragedy [death/divorce/illness] that has NOTHING to do with the topic at hand as a way of gaining sympathy, or making the other party look bad, loses.

Second Corollary: They also lose all future arguments if they pretend to be a friend or relative who (they claim) in the midst of tragedy decides to log on to tell everybody what horrible fate befell the poster.

Third Corollary: Claiming fatal illness/crippling physical condition/age/mental illness as an excuse for piss-poor debate skills automatically loses the argument.

Is this a superset of Snacky's Law?

Corollary: They also lose all future arguments if they pretend to be a friend or relative who (they claim) in the midst of tragedy decides to log on to tell everybody what horrible fate befell the poster.

(Like that one poster from a while back who claimed to be murdered by amoral atheists and posted her "last notes" pretending to be her brother.)

*insert proper terminology for it here* Claiming fatal illness/crippling physical condition/age/mental illness as an excuse for piss-poor debate skills automatically loses the argument.
