In honour of the recent Snapes On The Astral Plane Wank, I offer this:
After any wank or similar discussion has reached a certain plateau of length and amusement value, the original topic will become increasingly irrelevant and the wank will thereafter self-perpetuate indefinitely.
I suggest from empirical evidence that the "length plateau" referred to above is approximately 1000 comments.
