Napalmnacey's Principle
Proposed by [info]napalmnacey during the course of this wank and directly referencing this one:

Napalmnacey's Principle:

All hardcore pairing 'shippers are batshit insane, regardless of fandom. There are no exceptions to this principle. Anyone claiming to be an exception to the principle while exhibiting behavior to the contrary will be tied down and forced to read either opposing ship fic or crackpairing generator fic -- whichever inflicts the most agony -- until their eyes bleed.

(For those unfamiliar with crackpair generators, here are examples for The Prince of Tennis and Compilation of Final Fantasy VII.)

Edit: Original name of this Principle was 'Angua's Principle'. Tweaked it to honor the person who first said it (who is of love and deserves all props). Thinking of calling it 'Napalmnacey's Anguan Principle' just because it'll make for the most wank. First post. Go me.

Edit the second: To clarify. What is hardcore? THIS is hardcore.

Why "Angua's" principle and not someone else's? Surely there are shippers out there that are more batshit insane than she is. I know there are; I've seen them.

Angua is the only batshit shipper I've seen recently who felt like pointificating how batshit other shippers are as if she herself was actually sane.

I've seen several floating around out there -- I'll have to rummage to find the FF7 one. You hit 'generate' and it gives you two random characters and a prompt word. I'll hunt and see if I can find it for you.

I wrote a comment contesting that I'm not batshit insane and then I realised that I pretty much fulfilled the very principle I authored.

Though I'd like to make a distinction as to what hardcore involves, I think. If we're talking ever-lovin', wallpaper totin', icon-making, story-writing, picture-drawing hardcore - yep, I'm that in spades.

If we're talking petition-writing, author-threatening/fellating, minion-serving, BNFing, secret-society-banging, actor-loving/hating/threatening/stalking, essays-about-other-fans writing nutjob - yeah, that ain't me.

And regards to the BNF war mentioned by Anonymouse above, I figure a BNF war would require two BNFs. In this there'd be one (Angua) so it'd be sort of a BNF sticking-tongue-out at. (Especially since I don't really have anything against Angua at all. She just writes some very silly essays in my opinion).

I think it's time, based on some of the more recent Harry Potter wanks, to have a law that states that: as conversation about the Harry Potter or other related topic wank grows, the chances that someone will hijack the wank by talking about Doctor Who in an effort to kill the fandom topic of the wank.
