JackaIs and Hyenas of the Honorable Hive Vagina Court, I Present To You,
Dedicated to the esteemed batshit of aingli_deas, Star of the recent Christian T-Shirt, childfree stupidpalooza and madrigalskylark of the But it's okay for me to screen comments assfuckery.

Broken Record Law: If you respond to three or more opposing arguments by just repeating your original statement and ignoring all the points the other poster has made against said statement, you lose, and are banned from saying anything else on the subject, since you've obviously said all you can or will say.

Subclause A: If you then grumble about how you're "so tired of repeating yourself", you're just a fuckwit.

Subclause B: The minute technology develops a way for the other people in the debate to drag your dumb ass through the computer screen and take turns* beating the stupid out of you, it is the new punishment.

* Turns, because it takes a very long time to beat that much stupid out of a person, and some of us get tired and hungry after a few hours.

Oh god, him. Yeah, crazy as aingli is, she isn't the only one who does this. I've seen it so often, it's only that Aingli was the breaking point were I figured it really needed a law.

Amen to that. This sort of thing really needed a law to fling at people. "No, we really did hear you the first time and we still think you make no sense."

I know! They just say it over and over and over again, and ignore everything anyone says. I'd say it's worse than Godwin's, because you can only call hitler once, but you can fill pages with, "No, but like I said 40 times before, I didn't think those comments applied to the community, and so the 'no screening' rule doesn't count - even when you all say it does."

I want to apply this icon to all of them. It really is worse than Godwin's because once Nazis are invoked that's over...but the stupid just goes on and on. It's like the Energizer bunny of jurisimprudence.

It grinds down on your patience and sanity until you just want to reach into your computer monitor, drag them out and beat the stupid out if them.

That's a worthy punishment right there. Anyone using this argument more than three times is subject to being dragged through their monitor so they can have the stupid beaten out of them.

I would settle for them being banned from saying anything on the subject again (since they've obviously said the only thing they're going to say) but the dragging and beating does sound so very good.

Mere banning doesn't pound the point home like...well, like pounding does.

Well, the rule is now edited. I'm also thinking of renaming it "Broken Record Law" or something else. Any ideas?

Excellent edit, the 'turns' thing is perfect. 'Aingli's Broken Record Law' or some such? I can't think of another good term for repeat ad nauseam.

Is it wanky that it warmed my heart to see Madrigalskylark up there?

Preach it!
