I discovered an exception to Rule #2 (the 'creators don't care about your ship war' rule). It amused me, so I thought we might start a post for:

DOCUMENTED EXCEPTIONS TO RULE #2:

The Justice League and Justice League Unlimited TV shows - there's stuff on the DVDs where the writers admit to doing a certain number of things just to mess with the shippers. In fact, they actually use the word 'shippers'.

This happened. Is an animated short with the Avatar cast as chibis in which the creators mocked the shippers. I find it rather cute from several angles. :P

Two of them -- Haru (the kid who made the statue) and Ty Lee (the girl who jumped him with love after proclaiming to like sensitive guys) have never even MET.





Not that this stops me from shipping them quietly like crazy.

God, I'd kill for some good Haru/Ty Lee fic. Or Haru/Katara fic. Or... any Haru fic, really. Come on, guys, Teo gets more love!

Also, I noticed the name Dante Basco in the credits. That *has* to be the same guy who was Rufio, right? In Hook? Because the only thing I've seen him in since was a commercial.

I'm not in the fandom either, though I do watch the show.

Besides the animated short [info]luckdragonfujur posted, I've heard a story about a Comic-Con panel where the creators listed, and named with portmanteau names, every single possible ship--including the incestuous ones.

And it's pretty clear that they've been teasing people with a not-gonna-happen "female lead with male antagonist" pairing for a season and a half now.

Gene Roddenberry, in the novelization of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (alternate name: Star Trek: The First Movie That Didn't Really Happen 'Cause It Sucked) invented a Vulcan word to describe the relationship between Kirk and Spock, translating it in a footnote as an equivalent of "friend" that could also mean "brother" or "lover." The footnote then included an official statement from Kirk about the rumor that he and Spock were, well, lovers, which was ambiguous and seemed to deny without ever actually doing so. Or maybe not.

Ooh, that too. And I couldn't help but feel the whole "save the Flash, save the world" plot made it look like Flash was everybody's favorite pet or something.
