Zee's Godwin Corollary
Zee's Corollary to Godwin's Law:

In the context of Godwin's Law, George W. Bush is apparently the new Hitler. Therefore, the same rules apply to comparisons to G.W. as they do to comparisons to Hitler.

(Obvious exceptions for genuine comparisons of a politician or political candidate's policies to those of the Bush administration's.)

I think it's a little drastic to compare Bush to Hitler.

I think the intended meaning is that Bush is becoming as irritatingly ubiquitous in irrelevant internet arguments.

Yes, this. Apparently I shouldn't attempt to word laws the day after Bay to Breakers. :')

Maybe I worded this badly?

In a number of cases over the past month or so, I've seen political and social debates degenerate into one party accusing the other side of holding the same war-mongering attitude/imperialistic ideals/right-wing nutjobbery as President Bush. It's become the same lame "I don't want to debate the facts so I'm going to compare them/you to a Very Bad Person in order to win" sort of attitude that gave rise to Godwin's Law. Only in this case, the Very Bad Person is Bush, not Hitler. Whether or not you consider one even remotely as bad as the other, it's still a form of Godwin's and therefore applicable to the same punishment - you automatically lose the argument.

Or not. It's 5am here, my English comprehension might be a little on the weak side :P

Heh, no problem, I've been in that boat before. ;)

Totally. Hitler was a much better speaker.

I bet he had better grasp of the English language than Bush, too.

I've read all the comments here and to add; I -have- encountered people who seriously believe Bush would burn down an orphanage -personally- if it meant garnering glory.

I wish this rule existed YEARS ago.

Also, we need some sort of rule about defriending people because they supported the wrong person who then got elected.
