Oh gods, I despised those so much. As pretentious and faux-archaic as Virgil was in the Aeneid, I never found it nearly as annoying as Cicero. Most of what we know about Latin grammar comes from him because he delighted in using the most obscure, verbose constructions he could find or make up. I maintain there are some things that were never used by anyone else.

That was a wildly off-topic rant, but I feel better.
