1:38p My PayPal balance is growing
I'm mercifully unhungover, despite my Amarula-and-Valium adventure last night. Yay!
Sold the Monsterbait: Underpants on eBay last night. Sad to see it go, but money is money, and right now, if I do get $150 from my mom's side of the family and $100 Amazon gift certificate from my dad (which is my usual holiday loot) I can get an Eee 1000HA outright! Also put the spare bottle of Chanukkiyah on eBay and added Te Po to my sales post, if any of you are interested.
I need to go to the post office to mail the Underpants, but I'm waiting on Maintenance to come fix my heater so I can't leave yet :(

So, I've given up on NaNo for this year.
I'm a little saddened, because I did feel like I was doing really well compared to normal this year. But last week I decided to leave the lazy and procrastinating Mr. Pish, so I've been spending all my time packing and trying to get my life in order.
Oh, and Wrath of the Lich King. That snuck its way into my time somehow too.
So on Sunday I'll be packing the computer up and Monday will commence the two-day drive from Washington back to Minnesota. It sucks massively, considering I have to leave all the animals behind and don't even get me started on the mess that is my car situation. Yesterday was so crummy I crawled in bed at 6pm and played DS games until I fell asleep.
But hey, new start, right? New job, maybe being able to go back to school, rent-free and grocery-cost-free for as long as I can stand my mom's house, new-and-improved as she may be. And maybe I'll be able to get back to my NaNo project and keep working on it.
( In conclusion, a screenshot! )

The 'German Joys' guy translated more Max Goldt texts into English. This is one that I have as an audio file and played 290 times, says Itunes. Never mind that I was probably sound asleep most of the time, that's still a proud number. At any rate, I like it, and it's the right time of the year for it too. The translation is maybe a bit clumsy in parts (I even think it's missing a sentence), but it's still better than anything I could do. On the Magic of Walking Past Sideways (Vom Zauber des seitlich daran Vorbeigehens)
I'm gone for the weekend, catsitting. Take care and stuff.

5:59a why why why
I crawled off to bed around 1 am with 40mg of Valium and a few drinks under my belt and I woke up before 5 am WHAT THE FUCK.
Put my Monsterbait: Underpants up on eBay. Wondering if I should put the Chanukkiyah spare bottle up there as well.
Thankfully nothing from the BPTP update is tempting me. I am still wibbling over Candy Phoenix, though.
I have butterscotch/vanilla shots I got at Spec's... maybe I should have one... I'm in no mood to be clearheaded.
But I'm doing not so bad. Maintenance is supposed to come today to fix my lack of hot water in the kitchen (totally his fault), broken heater, and stiff backdoor lock (get your mind out of the gutter). My wrenched knee still hurts but it's not swollen or anything. I am looking grotesquely forward to getting an Eee. Falernum is tasty and makes me want to mix Tiki drinks. Cream of coconut, falernum, and a little spiced rum, what could go wrong?
Not having a blender, cream of coconut, or rum puts a cramp in that.
God, this entry makes me sound like a lush.

8:47p Fun Package
*eyes the subject line* Oooookay, that doesn't sound right. Er, for the purposes of cheering up anyone who needs to be cheered, I present to you a Big Ole Post of Fun! Here's a collection of Internet oddities and other things that have made me laugh over the years!
End of the World flash cartoon. "H'okay, so," has become such a catchphrase in my house. I can recite most of this by heart.
Fun With Smokey. Photoshop Phriday is pretty hit or miss, but oh my god this one made me laugh my face off.
My Little Pony: Apocalypse Ponies skit from Robot Chicken.
Oedipus, as performed by vegetables. It's glorious fun. Warning for veggie-on-veggie sex. YES. YOU READ THAT RIGHT.
The Salad Fingers flash cartoon series. Okay, I'ma warn you right now, this won't be to everyone's tastes. It's very, very macabre and slightly icky at parts and unsettling and might leave you huddled on the floor but OH MY GOD IT'S AWESOME. Especially the "Nettles" one. I challenge to watch that and NOT lose ALL FAITH in GOD. Wheeeeeeeee!
Keeping with my twisted sense of humor: The Perry Bible Fellowship online comics. Occasionally just as unsettling, often dirty, always ironic.
Ghost, mist, or CGI? The world may never know. Because it's too busy peeing itself.
If pretty, musical, time-wasting games are your thing, try Boomshine. Man, when I was depressed last spring I played this for HOURS.
Weebls cartoons are always mindless entertainment: Badgers, Kenya, and finally, I Love the Internet.
I love the Internet, it is fun Sharing our genius with pretty much everyone. Only on the Internet will you find Stories about Gandalf shagging Optimus Prime. There's things on the 'Net you should try not to see Like overstretched anii or songs by Rick Astley. I love the internet, it is fun Just wish I could unsee that man's bum.

8:40p MOSTLY a nice afternoon/evening
So, got to hang with doombuggie this afternoon. Had an awesome time! We had a yummy meal at Jason's, some iced coffee at Epoch, hit Home Depot so he could get a watering can, went to Spec's (a big liquor/fancy foods store) for some goodies, HEB for some normal groceries, Walgreens for my Valium, and Earthbound for some crabs.
Wonderfully fun time, except in HEB, I saw my ex-husband... we walked right by him in the soda aisle. No words were exchanged, but I could tell he recognized me. Oh god oh god I am so glad I was not alone, or dressed schlumpily (I was rockin' a HolyClothing minidress and black leggings, which is my new favorite look). But oh god oh god oh god. I hadn't seen him since the divorce. I had thought that I would never see him again.
Well, after that we went to Walgreens and I downed two Valium right off. And when we were at Earthbound doombuggie got me a crab to cheer me up. The crab in question is now named Dib.
The Valium is kicking in nicely, I feel comfortably blurred around the edges. If I still feel upset I have Amarula to mix with hot chocolate, or Keke Beach Key Lime Cream to mix with milk. I also have lots of good chocolate.

4:46p S2 Layout Issues
Hi, Guys. I know a good many of the S2 themes are kinda hosed right now. Something changed with the LJ migration to their new data center. The Bloggish and Style Contest themes have their CSS hosted at LJ. That's by LJ's design, with how the code is distributed. The code is set to use LJ's CSS proxy to handle the access and display of the CSS settings. Since LJ's move, though, the CSS proxy has been kaput. But the CSS itself at LJ is still working. Until we can find a way around all this, a couple users have a way that you can use the Custom CSS in your customization area to get your layouts pretty damn close to the original for that layout and theme.
You'll enter two sets of code in that area. The first one would be the code from this URL: http://stat.livejournal.com/sixhtml/themes/common/base-weblog.css
Just go there, copy it, and paste into the custom CSS box.
And the second set you enter will be from the direct CSS URL for your specific theme. You can locate this URL by viewing the source of your journal in your browser (View Source code). If you scroll down to the <link rel="stylesheet" section of the source code, you'll see the direct url to your theme's CSS at livejournal. Go there, copy that code, and paste it after the base-weblog.css code above. Make sure you have "No" selected to use the included base code (it's a dropdown), and that the URL field above the custom CSS box is empty. Click to save changes, and your theme will display much as it is supposed to. There is occasionally an element like a border that doesn't come through, but it's pretty close.
As an example of the CSS URLs, this is the one for the Baby theme for the Bloggish layout:
http://stat.livejournal.com/sixhtml/themes/lilia/theme-baby.css
The CSS URLS will be start with
http://stat.livejournal.com/sixhtml with the rest varying by theme and layout.
I'll still be looking for an alternative to having to futz with custom CSS, but in the meantime, that method of applying the CSS will get your Bloggish and Style Contest journal themes put back together pretty well.
Thanks,
Robin

4:00p *snuggles for all*
Dude, it seems like eveyone on my flist is having a shitty time of it right now, whether due to real life crap or fannish assholery. :( bbs, I love you! Don't be sad!
I'm not having a cakewalk right now, but I'm doing pretty good. Is there something I can do for any of y'all? A drabble? A funny story (maybe that one about the penis festival in Japan)? Some kind of amusing meme you want me to fill out?

Is anyone else having trouble getting their journal pages to load right? The contents show up but not the style.

I'm starting to feel like fandom_lounge is spamming me, and it just won't stop.
If I wasn't such a lazy mod, I'd do... something.
