I particularly like that attitude of combined "You're just jealous" and "I'm sorry you're stupid" he's constantly displaying; I admit I haven't read many sociology papers, but this reads less like academic writing and more like a dressed-up rant of "ZOMG I'm so awesome and those bitches can't acknowledge it lolol".
