The Agony Booth! A favorite place to spend a few hours reading. Just in time for the upcoming 'holiday', (the anonymous one or that one guy's birthday, I'm not sure which,) they've posted this:

The Mega-review of Battlefield Earth!

I've been tempted to get the Rifftrax of Battlefield Earth, but I'm put off by the notion of spending any money on the film itself, even if it's just renting it from Netflix. But, man, that recap has effectively put me off it entirely. Just reading about all the tilted angles made me feel seasick! Not to mention the rampant stupidity, but that's a given.

When BE was in the theaters, my husband and I went to see it because it was the only movie in the multiplex that we either hadn't already seen or knew was nowhere near our idea of how to spend two hours out of a heat wave that was topping 100 degrees F. We knew it wasn't going to be good. We hoped it would be funny-bad. We left that theater after it was over and promptly discussed a shared fantasy of billing John Travolta for our time in that hellhole.

That is hysterical, but it really is tl;dr for a single sitting. I'll see if I can manage to get in done in installments.
