More knitting wank
They're at it again.

_crowjane posts to knitting, expressing her outrage at a ball of yarn that apparently costs ninety dollars. She ends her short but enraged post with this line: "Even if it were spun from God's magical fucking pubic hairs, I would not pay that much money."

Sixteen comments later, enter reverberate, who seeks, in the worst case of netspeak I've seen in a LONG time, to educate _crowjane about God.

(thanks to pandoras_closet for clueing me in . . . shall have to redouble my efforts to lure him to the wonder that is wank . . . )

Late Edit: It should be noted that this all went down last year, so it's a Golden Oldie! (This'll teach me not to post at five in the morning when my eyes are soaking in a glass by the bed . . . )

Oh, yes. Yes, we are sick of it indeed, and often prone to ranting about it.

Looks very much like a fake troll journal. I refure to believe somebody would be that... that... and with that approach to spelling, too. Ew. I need to go wash out my brain.

I thought that at first, too...but who makes a troll journal and then only joins KNITTING communities? Seems like a "real" troll would be a bit more diversified than that, esp. considering the Sahara of flame wars that is the knitting world.

Way to complain about taking ***'s name in vain and then ranting about his lack of bact*ria and bo*y o*ors and no*tu*nal emissi*ns and p*bic hairs.

That was one skilled troll, bringing a little amusing with the outright annoying. Also, that icon with the palms cracked me up. I saw all sorts of terrible things in it and went "For me? Wtf is it?! Please say it is mushrooms or something." before I realized what it is about :D

and btw I have never needed a "you! out of my faith!"-icon more.

*facepalm*

People like that make me so ashamed of being an xian that it almost makes me feel like throwing it all out the window.

Ah! Now I'm relieved.
Because I saw names of F_Wer in the thread and thought what, why haven't they reported it? Want to keep all the wank for their greedy, treacherous little selfs, want they?

incarnation is not a part of G-d's plan ... we have one life only to prove you 're worthy, not many as the buddists say.

Especially since it's the Hindus that believe in reincarnation, not Buddhists.

Uhm... I was under the imoression all Lamas were re-incarnations of the previous Lama? That's why the Dalai Lama's the 14th incarnation.

Could be wrong...

I always thought that Buddhists believed that only the Lama was reincarnated, not everyone else in the population as well. I could be wrong though, as I'm not Buddhist. I'm Hindu and I remember that that tidbit about reincarnation was one of the differences between the two religions.

Buddhism (certain forms; I can't speak for all) believes in the Wheel of death and rebirth . . . attaining nirvana is a freeing of oneself from the cycle of rebirth.

Hmm, maybe we are thinking about different forms. I thought that Buddha in his teachings tried to tell that the cycle of reincarnation Hindus believed in was untrue, and that the human soul was not doomed to an almost infinite amount of lifetimes on earth. Also, nirvana (a state of mind) could be achieved by freeing oneself from desire.

???

I'm probably dead wrong . . . so you can just ignore me. ;)

Although I could have sworn I encountered the idea of death and rebirth in Buddhism somewhere . . .

S'okay, I might be wrong too :) I just sometimes feel that out of all the world religions, Hinduism is the introverted big brother than everyone ignores ;)

I used to be fascinated by Hinduism. Well, still am; I was introduced to it through the Beatles and just went from there--at one point the more Bible-thumping members of my family acted like I'd joined a cult because I was *gaspshock* exploring other religions.

Well, I hope you have another oppourtunity to delve into Hinduism, despite it's insane complexities, eccentricities and contradictions ;) What aspect(s) of Hinduism are you interested in?

Well, putting myself out on a limb and hoping I don't sound like an uneducated rube, I find the different gods and goddesses fascinating (I still have a picture of Lord Ganesha on my wall . . . a goof fit since I'm a writer) and I also enjoy reading the different scriptures and epics (the Bhagavad-Gita and Mahabharata especially). That's about as far as I got in my studies before graduate school interfered. ;)

Yesterday, journalfen was down. Last night, I had a dream that journalfen would be back up to day, and 'lo and behold, my dream was prophetical! Perhaps it was a God-inspired dream. God, whose spends the rest of his time making his magical fucking pubic hairs into yarn. Which are not worth ninety dollars. May I please have an icon now?
