It's not WEIRD, it's just DIFFERENT.
I co-maintain a community on LiveJournal -- learn_russian. It's usually a nice, quiet community. I suspect that this has lulled me into a sense of complacency.

Enter 1margaret7, who wants to know how to type in Russian. Unfortunately, people have issues with her wording:

how do you make the letters in the russian language?
they seem all wierd to me..

Then 1margaret7 has issues with people having issues with her wording. CAPS are USED for EMPHASIS.

The sad part? I completely missed it when it was happening, and I have no excuse to give an adminly smackdown now since everyone has gone their merry way on their own. :(

	A lot of them aren't native English speakers, so that might have something to do with it. I was going to chastise the rudest of them, but since it's been so long, doing that seemed rather silly -- and 1margaret7's responses amused me, besides. (Reply to this)(Parent)

	I LOVE how seemingly RANDOM words that she FEELS need EMPHASIS get the all CAPS treatment. It makes my HEAD HURT! It was a pretty inane question. I would just chalk the wank up to people having less tolerance for teh stupid ppls. It's easier to jump all over them then deal with them right? (Reply to this)
