If One Civil War Wasn't Enough....
Count on the Christian Right to try it again. Their mission statement is Grade A Conservative!Wank, and the idea of "We don't like what the Supreme Court says, so we're going to force one State of our choice to secede from the Union by gangbanging it with 50,000 Christians."

So let's get this straight. Since the government is taking their moral standards off the law books, they feel they have the right to force a State they pick to break away from the country by moving maybe...another 1% of the State's net population-worth of Christians into it?

Hey, I'd gladly donate money to move all the Conservative Christian Right to a small island in the middle of nowhere, preferably within boating distance to a leper colony.

Anyone care to join me?

Provided that it's uninhabited, sure. Don't want to inflict that on any native people.

[info]political_wank was made for stuff just like this. This sort of post breeds metawank.

Sidenote: "Count on the Christian Right to try it again" made me think of the "Duck Season!" "Rabbit Season!" Loony Tune. Nothing like the vision of a PatRobertson!Daffy to make you smile.

You know, if they're really serious about this, there's a whoooooole continent ripe for colonization.

It's called Antarctica.

Oh, sure, the conditions might be a little harsh, but if you're not willing to put up with a little snow for Jeebus... besides, if God reeeeeally wants 'em to survive, He can throw manna at 'em. He might need to add some food coloring to it this time, though; it'd be a little hard to spot against the ice and snow in its natural state.

Won't Someone Think of the Penguins?!?

It seems a little cruel to submit the poor penguins to all those attempts to convert them, though. Of course, since they always look like they're wearing suits, maybe the penguins will look from a distance like a competing sect. Does that increase or decrease their chances of being proselytized to?

Don't worry, the penguins only live on the coast. We'll put the coloney inland for the penguin's sake. Sure the conditions may be harsher, but God is on their side, they'll be okay!

Does anybody remember what happened the last time someone tried to leave the union? Anybody? Bueller?

But I'm not going to tell them that, As long as the don't try to move to Washington, I'm more than happy to let them leave.

Children may not pray in our schools*

Um...yes they can. I've never seen anyone stop a kid from praying privately before they eat their lunch.

The Bible is not welcome in schools except under strict FEDERAL guidelines

Actually, I read my Bible in school sometimes, such as after tests. No one said anything. I had the Left Behind series recommended to me, but there was no real reprucussions.
