I'm not sure where this would go
I'm putting this here since I don't believe Ebay counts as a fandom.

Angel has gone off the air, and now clothing and items for the series are being auctioned off on eBay.

The wank?

This item, a cracked coffee mug from the ep Smile Time.

The price? A little over three hundered dollars....

[And the sad thing is if I had oodles of money I'd bid on this too...]

I do think it's a bit much to shell out 300+ bucks for what is basically a broken coffee mug, even if my inner fangirl is squeeing madly.

Actually, if they were doing the auctions for charity, I might just be insane enough to bid on something. But does this foxauction really need to screw over all of us already screwed over fans just for more profit on our misery? Hmmm.

In this case I think we're kinda of screwing ourselves over.

The starting price for a lot of the items seems pretty reasonable, the mug started out at only 15 bucks.

It's when bidding wars get started that things get nasty.

In the post-BtVS auctions, didn't a replica of the axe-scythe go for something in 5 digits?

I do recall it was an obscene amount of money, and sadly, 4 digits seems slightly too reasonableplausible.

If puppetAngel is up for bidding, he's so the axe-scythe of this auction.

I can't decide what amuses me more, the fact that someone is going to pay $300+ for a broken mug, the description (This cracked mug was thrown across the room by an evil muppet...), or the fact that for about 30 seconds I seriously considered bidding for Spike's dust. :P

I miss my dead gay show.
