A question is NEVER *just* a question!
Everyone's seen this this gif before, right?

Well, over on thequestionclub, ccnuggie has had ENOUGH! Apparently, he finds the idea of an 'under-aged girl spewing blood' to be repugnant- and makes sure that inconvenience knows it.

After getting told to stfu, ccnuggie gets frustrated and decides to find out exactly why people are defending the icon.

A few people agree with him (including a mod), while everyone else wanks poetic over how ccnuggie's really just intolerant of the Natural Female Process.

While we're at it, who did draw that? I seem to remember that the artist in question had a number of other weird drawings...

It's been really hard to not go in there and get all spoogy myself. The OP is being a real whiny pain in the ass and I want to smack him around, but reading the comments has already told me that his Wall of Self-Righteousness is absolutely perfect and it wouldn't get me anywhere.

*once found a Mari-chan notebook at one of the comic book stores here, too - it wasn't one of her really scary mascots, but was still weirded out at seeing something by her availabale LOCALLY* O_O

Well, for starters, menstrual blood drips - it doesn't spray in torrents like a jugular wound. Also, for those of us who have day jobs, it's really not the most work-safe icon in the world.

I found the icon amusing myself, the first time I saw it I was thinking, "Holy cow, that's some monster rag!" With faces, even. I started thinking of some canons or mythologies that involved huge periods.

I didn't think it was a "prepubescent girl" since most manga, the characters, female especially, often look like little kids. The picture by Marichan's mini-bio looks like the Menstrual Dreamer-- plus her nipples are pierced. I'm betting that it's Marichan's self-portrait in a way.

*shrugs* I'm personally more creeped out be pictures of pregnant women (bloated, twisted bodies) but I don't whine about it on a public journal.
