That wasn't funny! Bad poster, no biscuit!
LJ's metaquotes community can bring it.

blackperson posts an excerpt from a transcript of a discussion featuring "the n-word".

First comment, of course, is complaining that the quote didn't strike them as funny. Complete with starting with "Uh". Classic sign that you don't respect the opinion of your addressee.

Promptly admonished. Comes back.

The discussion it's culled from is actually interesting, and I understand why blackperson posted it. Though, like someone on the thread said, I might have picked a different exchange to quote.

I don't particularly get her random fandoms ripping, though.

Applause applause to chlaal for having the calmest head.

Off topic, but this is so very funny and so very wrong.

You know, I'm torn on this. It's so stupid to make a point of saying "I don't find this funny" to posts on a comm like metaquotes, and yet there's a small part of my brain niggling around in the back telling me that the OP actually wanted wanky responses. I have no proof of this mind, I've just been rubbed the wrong way by things she's said in metaquotes before.

Personally, I would have found the quote funnier if it contained the word "nigga" (it's got to have the "a", dude).

The original discussion was quite interesting and thought-provoking, and I'm glad it was posted. But honestly, I think the person who posted that it wasn't funny probably agreed with the Dumbass.

It's wank bait, and the wank came. I AM SHOCK ITSELF

On the note of the fandom 'ripping', though. It isn't. It's a general note of what is obvious, that 4/5ths of the metaquoutes are on today's Hot Slashee Film, or Today's Hot Slashee Pairing, or Today's Fandom Mock (In all honesty, I often use it as a upcoming movies feed - "Oh, there's a Troy movie? Should see it."). But for those not involved in the fandoms, all the quote gets is an odd look and a "Is this supposed to be funny?" comment to self. Scrolly scroll scroll.

Is it racist to really loathe [info]blackperson? Because god s/he is stuffy, humorless, and thin-skinned. It's like s/he is just SPOILING for a good knockdown wankfast. Constantly.

No... it's perfectly okay to dislike someone if they are a wanker, regardless of race, ethnicity, sex, sexual preference, religion, etc.

Nah, she's a dickweed. She's the same one who posted a few weeks back wanting metaquotes' rules changed to limit the number of quotes by any particular person, because there wasn't enough variety to suit her. Because it's easier to demand a comm's rules change than it is to go out looking for new material and post it yourself.

Yonmei: (Straights tend to get unnerved/angry when confronted with the kind of jokes queers tell about straight people: Americans tend to get unnerved/angry when confronted with the kind of jokes everyone else in the world tells about Americans: it's all about the power of humour[...])

Yes. You should just hear the jokes whites tell about black people. Ah, the power of humor to unite us all!

.... wait.

I passed this over in metaquotes, but that really is an interesting discussion. Plus, there's a cute little nerd in the thread who I simply must take home and squee over. Aren't you just the cutest little nerdy-nerd? Yes you are!
