Current mood:*sporfle!*

More Michael Moore Madness!
There's been a meme going around my flist lately in re: Fahrenheit 9/11, to wit:

After you go to Fahrenheit 9/11, keep your ticket stub and mail it to:
George W. Bush
1600 Pennsylvania Ave
Washington DC 20500
With a note attached: "I saw what you did last summer."

Funny, right? Well, I chuckled. So anyway, it finally gets metaquoted, and most of the responses, including mine, are along the lines of, "Hey, that would be pretty funny, huh?"

[info]lotd2242, however, begs to diffah, and wank ensues.

But what we really have to watch out for are the copycats!

Er, how about actually watching the movie before you dis it?

There you go, stereotyping liberals! *tch* Typical conservative.

Good times, good times.

Now now, play nice, anonymice!

Besides, does Michael Moore wank even count as political wank when both the lefty and the righty members think he's a fruitcake?

Since the whole wank here is so obviously political, it's easy to skip right past if you don't like it, though.

So on the one hand he seems to be bitching that "that God forbid anyone actually make a movie for a purpose other than profit' while citing Spider-Man as preferred cinema?

Spider-Man I lerned so much from U!

Well, he's obviously on crack anyway. X-Men was a way better superhero movie.

Mmm, politiwank. Dirtier than anything fandom can dish out.

Now you mention it, I probably should have put this in [info]political_wank. I was too focused on trying to get it posted before anyone else did so that I could share the funneh with the world.

Eh, it was more a commentary on how real life can be wankier than fandom. Like truth and fiction, in a way. I rarely see anyone use [info]political_wank anyway. :P

(Besides IMO this probably has more to do with the moviegoers than the actal politicians.)

Pretty much. I think of Moore more as a shit-disturber an entertainer than an activist, anyway.

And I cite the Crackers Don't Matter event from the Save Farscape campaign. It was not wise to mail Sci Fi all of those Crackers. Though, ticket stubs are smaller... and it is all to irritate Bush...

Oh, the bra thing was because Bonnie Hammer (the CO of the Sci-Fi Network), said that they were getting rid of a lot of their shows - including Farscape - because they wanted to start attracting more female viewers. I don't remember the exact quote, but I couldn't probably find it if I dug hard enough.

So, we all mailed her bras. Basically say "Sweetie, you're on crack." I don't remember why the crackers thing though - but it happened to coincide with the antrax scare, so it was a bad thing.
