Customers_Suck Wank
Bluewingedcat, who you may recognize from a previous mini-wank involving her uncalled-for rudeness to a customer smoking in his own car, whines about people who order huge fatty meals with diet drinks. She then starts deleting comments from people who don't agree with her. Wank ensues.

A little later, natsukigirl makes reference to bluewingedcat's "cowardess," telling us to look up the word before we flame (which someone does), and flaunts her vast knowledge of nutrition in a post informing us that FAT GOOD, CARBS BAD, STARCH NOT CARBS!

Wank from both ends. Fnargh.

I saw that one . . . even wanked in that one.

Way to make a horrible generalization and then top it off with "cowardess"...

I'm going to watch this journal. I don't have a f_w account, but the veganpeople comm on LJ is always good for wank. The latest: http://www.livejournal.com/community/veganpeople/71923.html

Psst, you can head over to codes and ask one of the nice people there to spare you one. :)

*rolls eyes* OK, first of all...how does that make someone a bad customer? Unless they open the diet coke and pour it over her head or something, it's none of her fucking business.

Second, the reasons why someone might order a diet drink with their meal have already been addressed, so, *points to it*.

I love how there's all these reasons. I just drink diet pop. I drink diet pop til it comes out my ears. (I drink about anything else until it comes out my ears though. Except tea. Don't like tea.)

So do I...mainly because I used to drink regular pop just as much, and when I noticed how much weight I had gained, I switched to diet and (for the most part) didn't look back. I've actually lost 30 pounds this way.

Same here--I would make three or four 20 oz. Dr. Peppers vanish at work, and then another 1/3 to 1/2 of a 2-liter at home every day. Did the math, went "YAARGH!" and switched to diet at work and tea at home. I'm not actually losing weight, but my jeans keep getting baggier and baggier, so apparently I'm doing something right. :)

Yeah, I did the math too, and damn, do those calories add up. Especially if you're killing 2 12-packs a day. Now I get by having one, maybe two 20-ounce regular sodas a day; hey, it keeps the cravings away. (I can drink all the diet I want, obviously.)

My shirts and such are getting looser, too, and I love it.

I've been trying to drink a lot more water...and since my husband has switched to diet (regular makes him break out) I'm drinking diet a lot more at home. It's a lot easier to snag one of his diets than to cart my happy ass down to the 7-11 for regular pop, and as long as we don't get regular pop at the store, I'm not really missing it.

Still get cravings for Coke sometimes, though. Damn Arby's and their super huge Cokes!

I have gotten the opposite problem. I always order regular drinks because A) I prefer the taste and B) I'm allergic to aspartame. I've been served Cokes that were blended with Diet Coke or else was served diet drinks and when I politely and pleasantly informed that I was given a diet drink, the mistake was corrected but sometimes I got curtly told that "this is a regular Coke". I'm sorry, but I can *taste* the difference, just as a person who prefers diet can taste the difference. I'm not certain how common aspartame allergies are but I don't enjoy wheezing and barfing my guts out because someone thought they'd "do me a favor". I've gotten to the point where I take a cautious sip to make certain that this is the one with all the sugar and not that Nutrasweet stuff just because it happened to me so much.

Argh, lost half my text. Keyboard dying from Coke ;)

I've overheard people in restaurants say, "I just did that fat bitch a favor". Like giving me a diet is going to cancel out the calories I just ingested and who appointed this dipshit as my personal weight watching police?

When I worked in a restaurant, I've caught people mixing diet with regular or trying to pass of diet as regular either to "move stock" or, "to do that fat chick a favor" (Notice how nobody says "do that fat dude a favor"?). What the hell, just give the people the pop they ask for and don't fuck around. I was always more concerned about mixing up regular and diet when waiting tables. Sometimes I'd put a coffee saucer or a bar coaster under the diet drink amid a sea of non-diet or the root beer among Pepsis.

I don't start wheezing, but many artifical sweetners make me incredibly sick. Plus, I start getting the shakes in less than 30 minutes after consuming them. I don't know what they do to my blood sugar levels, but it ain't good. (I'm hypoglycemic, so I don't know if that actually plays a part in the bad reactions.)

This new stuff on the market, Sucralose/Splenda, that's getting put in EVERYdamnthing, hits me pretty hard. It makes me lightheaded and feel like I'm disconnected from my body, and like I could faint or something. I guess that's what happens when you chlorinate sugar.

Yeah, I saw this too, and my reaction was the same....total bukkake-fest. I'm surprised natsukigirl wasn't banned for causing trouble.

Oh yeah, and the other day, I went to Arby's and got a Big Montana, curly fries...and a Diet Coke. I guess I'm going to hell now. *snrk*

You know, I'm surprised no one's made Adult Swim f_w icons (since that's the closest thing to a fandom I can identify with at this point); I should dig through my episodes of ATHF and Sealab and see what I can do with that.

That said, there's a few on [info]icons I wouldn't mind ganking.

Well, in defense of some of the dietary stuff...it IS possible to eat fast food and still lose weight. I'm on the Jorge Cruise diet and potatoes count as carbs. Since for each meal i need to eat half a plate of veggies, and the rest protein and carbs, you can actually go to mcdonald's and get a chicken sandwich without the mayo and it's all good. If you don't eat the bun you can have an order of small fries too. So you can eat fast food and still diet. I've been very successful with it.

Oh, and certain kinds of fat are HIGHLY beneficial and should be ingested every day. I have to have a tablespoon of 'good' fat with each meal. Usually in the form of oil-based salad dressing, olive oil, or nuts.

I think this is just a case of "customers suck by being a customer" rather than "customers suck by being sucky". You know, the feeling that "Oh my god, these people coming by mean I actually have to DO MY JOB! God, I hate them and everything about them!"
