Current mood:*sporfle!*

if their wuz a god i wudnt b suicidle!
[info]the_awfultruth came to the [info]atheist community to rant. About what, no one knows, since her grammar, spelling, and odd choice of text sizes and colors made the rant nearly unreadable, but here it is in all its brainmelting glory:

im not here to turn atheist into believer or believers into atheist..im here to state my opinion like the rest of us.

soo iv been thinking about all this  atheism stuff...

I Nicole Lynn am an Atheist.

you cant change that, dont bother trying
ya know,, i never understood why people gove money to a church, do u know wut they r doing with it.? r they using it for themselfs to take a long vacation? when they r telling u they r fixing the "problems"?
and the whole adam n eve thing? she ate the apple? so y r we still eating them today if the "devil" told her to.wouldnt we NOT be eating them?

its ur life. so y live it by wut a book says?  and u say ur not sinning?  news flash

NO ONE IS PERFECT!   everyone "sins" weather u think u dont or not.

im stating this because this is how i see it..

if there was a "god" then why is everyone going through so much pain. "because eve ate the apple" right? thats wut ur saying isnt it? well.. i dont think so.

everyones entitled to there own opinion!

so heres myne.

im the type of person that has to see it to believe it.. i always question if sumones lieing.

i think that if there is a "god" then i wouldnt have gone thought wut i have. that no one would have.

if there is a "god" wed all be "perfect" and living by his "bible" and how boring would that be?

i feel that religions wer made by people who wanted sumthiing to get money out of..

to me it seems like a cult..colt  how ever u spell it.

if there is a "god" then he can come to my face and tell me in person and then we will c if i believe..

i highly doubt it...

thnx for reading.. leave ur comments.. i dont kare wut  uhave to say but remeber..

im not trying to change n e one.im just stating my opinion.

thank you

The standard response to this is a variation of "I'd like to read what you're saying, but I can't due to your atrocious grammar." [info]the_awfultruth responds that it isn't her fault she can't spell; she's from the South. This naturally upsets the literate southerners on the board.

Others defend her illiteracy: "The girl clearly is to lazy to type things out properly, deal with it. I am not from Texas and I have crappy grammar, why? Because I'm too damned lazy to spend any sizeable amount of time typing something out because i have better things to do. Stop being mean you sow's."

After several comments, [info]the_awfultruth still doesn't get it: "why do yall care so much about writing? how come all the communitys i try to be in cares so much?"
I don't know, maybe all the "communitys" you've joined expect literacy from their members? How dare they?!

After everyone's had their fun ripping her a new one, [info]the_awfultruth makes her whiny thought-provoking exit speech:

"your comments really tore me up lastnight and i hope you all are happy for the way you made me feel. i was just looking for someone to talk to about my decisions because i cant talk to anyone in my family about this or any of my friends.
i figured that yall would understand, but i found myself wrong and very hurt.

im not going to be in any communitys anymore, and im sure yall do not care.
but i hope you all are happy with the things you said to me. and i tried to make you understand that i have a disability i cannot write or spell very well and im NOT saying that its bacause im from the south.

i wish to advise you all to watch deeply what you say to anyone. beacuase you never know what the person might do because of what you say to them."

The saga does not end there. A day later, [info]the_awfultruth's best friend, [info]100__stories, comes to the community to defend her friend and tell everyone what horrible, horrible people they are.

I am appalled at the way some of you acted towards one of our members when they stated their opinions. Telling them that they give all Atheists a bad name because they type differently. Seriously, is that necessary?

When I first joined, I thought I finally had someone to talk to about being who I am, because I get enough crap about it at school and at home. At first, I thought I was alone in being Atheist because no one spoke freely about it as I did. But then, to my surprise, I found an Atheist community to share my thoughts and feelings about god. Unfortunately, I realized that I don't want to be apart of a community that insults members for their lack of grammar skills. It's stupid and silly.

This girl, [info]the_awfultruth, who also happens to be my best friend, was criticized for something she cannot help. So she types bad. Big deal. Isn't the point of this community to share common intrests of being an Atheist and discussing topics relating to it? Because when I joined, that's what I thought it was about. But no, to my understanding, half of you only read entries if they have proper grammar. And if it doesn't, then you don't bother. That isn't fair.

I, too, am also leaving this community. I hope everything goes well and hopefully I opened some eyes. Good-bye.

♥Sarah

The wank goes on in the comments, and [info]the_awfultruth steps back in to have her final say:

"i hope you someday get hurt as badly as i did. and i hope you suffer badly!"

Can you feel the love?

Luckily, someone in LJ's metaquotes also saw the pic, and iconed it before the deletion.

Yay! "Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children."

After all, half the fun of religion is being able to blasphemisee and take (the) God(s)(ess)'s name in vain when you are in pain or royally ticked.

Okay, serious question -- it it proper useage to capitalize Atheist? I mean, Catholic, Episcopalian, Wiccan ... sure. But ... atheist. Hmm.

I dunno, it just looks weird with a cap.

Even moreso now that I've typed it a bunch of times. *g*

And I just got a giggle picturing myself saying "staplerdammit!!" next time LJ eats a post of mine ...

going away now.

All voicemail systems are sick and wrong and not of the Lord. First one I ever used, I tried to put someone on hold and ended up hanging up on my mom. That just ain't right, yo.

My Philosophy of Religion textbook doesn't capitalise the word. So I'd say no, "Atheist" is incorrect.

Telling them that they give all Atheists a bad name because they type differently.

I love that. It's no longer called "bad spelling," it's "typing differently" which makes it aaaall okay. If only I'd known that in elementary school think of what I could've gotten away with on spelling tests. "Who cares if I spelled 'cat' wrong? I write differently! You're oppressing me!"

I know a few atheists with just a touch of the old superiority complex. (I.E. "I'm smart enough to know there is no God and intellectually strong and honest enough to stand up and say so, and that makes me so very much better than all you poor deluded brainwashed theists" sort of thing.) I should show this rant to them. *evil grin*

I am so tempted to send this to my friend Arythusa. She'd probably get a good laugh out of it. Or else bang her head up against the wall.

i never understood why people gove money to a church, do u know wut they r doing with it.? r they using it for themselfs to take a long vacation? when they r telling u they r fixing the "problems"?

Translation: I never understood why people gave money to churches. Do you know what they are doing with it? Are they using it for themselves to take a long vacation when they are telling you they are fixing the "problems"?

Answer: As an agnostic, I can't speak from experience, but I would assume that when you give money to a church, the point is that the money would go to the poor. At least, that's how Jesus wanted it to work with Chrisitianity.

and the whole adam n eve thing? she ate the apple? so y r we still eating them today if the "devil" told her to.wouldnt we NOT be eating them?

Translation: And the whole Adam and Even thing? She at the apple? So why are we still eating them today if the "devil" told her to? Wouldn't we NOT be eating them?

Answer: Well, for one thing, the Bible never specifies the fruit as an apple. And considering the climate, it is highly doubtful that apples could grow in Eden. (But perhaps it was an Act of God?) However, the point was that the apple came from the Tree of Knowledge, and God had told Adam not to eat anything from there. Disobedience to your god is not a good thing. Or, as Jack Chick would put it, sin rains down and makes you smell bad, which causes the big white guy without a face to throw you out. Accept Jesus Christ!

Erm...sorry about that. Couldn't resist. And I do think I am going to pass the link along to Ary. But honestly! Not all non-Christians are dumbshits! I swear!
