I dunno. Maybe I'm just a freak, but I was under the impression that Jack was pretty much a cultural icon by now. Christ, even Johnny Depp was in a Ripper movie in the last couple of years, and it's not like Jack's name doesn't get brought up every time there's a serial killing or mutilation murder. Plus there's some sort of special about him on tv every other Halloween.

Eh. Probably me being a freak again.

	Nah, I don't think you are being a freak. I have the From Hell comic, and then started delving into it a bit more, so I'm a little more into the conspiracy!theories... But I think most people, except for the unwashed masses on boards, should know who he is. (Reply to this)(Parent)

I don't care what anyone thinks about serial killers... Cain (or Kain, depending on your preference) was the first and still is the worst serial killer of all time, having killed 25% of the world's population during his killing spree.

This is chuckle worthy. Every post after it is OMG don't you know that serial means multiple!1!

Pfft it's a joke kiddos.

Whatever the game ends up being like it will never top the cast of Ripper.

It's a video game for the PC. It was a 6 cd'r too. RPG style with puzzles and great cut scenes. The required video card was outdated uber quickly though. v_v
It takes place in the future and you play Scott Cohen who is a reporter who the new Jack has been writing to. Walken is a cop who hates you and is a major suspect along with a doctor, a hacker and your character's girlfriend. The killer is using a virus on the VR web that lies dormant until after the user logs off and then shreds them from the inside out. John Rhys-Davies has a lovely scene involving link sausage in place of intestines. It had multiple endings too. Awesome awesome game.

	I'm more amused by the idea that since it might have to do with an English serial murderer, the UK should get it omg how dare they not send it over DAM* BYOOROCRATES! Classic. And wrong on at least two accounts. Unless of course Cain was a motherfucker on top of being a "serial killer". The gory retellings of Elisabeth Bathory's life story (She made girls bath in tEH NUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) were good too.

	That's the nice thing about 'From Hell' by Alan Moore. He was all like "Shit! Where are the Masons! Can't have a conspiracy without them!" So he was sure to add them. And that sold me on the entire comic (er, sorry, graphic novel). I have a weakness for Masons. sniff (Reply to this)(Parent)

	I read somewhere that there've been more books, articles, films and television documentaries about Jack the Ripper than any other figure in history, and yet the people on that board seem to have missed them all.
