Entertainment Weekly wank!
This showed up on Defamer (part 1 and part 2) the other day, and I'm surprised no one posted it yet.

In short, the manager of actor Ken Wahl (Who?) goes off on EW writer Dalton Ross on a blog that snarks on EW. Hilarity ensues.

The manager sents a letter to EW Review:
My comment to DALTON ROSS is that he is an IRRESPONSIBLE REPORTER for writing an extremely libelous account of his interview with Ken Wahl. He pestered publicists that were hired to promote the "Wiseguy" DVD for an in-depth personal interview of actor, Ken Wahl claiming he was a "fan".

DALTON ROSS, in the midst of pounding several drinks in a very short interview seemed hell-bent on making Ken Wahl look bad and showed he obviously had an axe to grind with Ken Wahl. His article was basically taken from 10-12 year old, mostly false internet gossip. He literally repeated this crap word for word. DALTON ROSS in my opinion is no better than your everyday sleazy tabloid reporter. He falsely accused Ken of having "layers of extra weight", which is an outright lie. I would imagine that DALTON, in his scrawny little frame, felt inferior to Ken's Manly physique. He seemed to focus on what Ken ordered to drink, embellishing on YEARS of false statements that Ken is an alcoholic, yet failed to say, he himself was pounding beers like there was no tomorrow. He had made a false statement that Stephen J. Cannell, creator of "Wiseguy", fired Ken from "Wiseguy" and then contradicts himself by quoting Stephen J. Cannell and Ken Wahl that it was a "mutual decision" (which this latter of the two is the real truth). DALTON ROSS failed to do a little bit of research to find out that Ken is NOT an alcoholic, he IS NOT IN HIDING, as he is often out in public. I suggest "Entertainment Weekly" fire this guy. What's wrong DALTON? Did your wife call you Ken one night in midst of passion, (however, it's obvious you don't have any passion) after just watching the "Wiseguy" DVD?

Dalton (or a reasonable fascimille) replies in the comments with this:

Ken Wahl is a fat drunk and he can take me to court if he wants. I stand by my story, as well as my excellent "More like Lindsay Lo-hot!" joke in last week's 'list.

And this, which I'm sure has to break a [info]jurisimprudence law or two:

You people are really starting to frighten me! Look....I work at a big magazine, and you don't. End of story.

Okay!

SHERRY SALERNO has got to be Ken Wahl's mom.

There's a Wiseguy DVD? And people watch it?

Here I though managers were supposed to be slightly more, oh, professional than your average fangirl...

She probably is a fangirl. I don't think Ken Wahl has had a paying gig in ten years. I doubt he can afford a real manager.

Okay, 8 years, I wasn't far off. At least he got a piece of that sweet, sweet terrorsploitation coin. From his imdb bio:

"Selling personally designed September 11th commerative [sic] American Flags, for $155 each on his web site (August 2002)"

His official site. Talk about hero worship.

As someone on Fametracker pointed out, there's no guarantee that the guy in the comments is actually Dalton Ross--apparently the email doesn't match up anyway, although anyone could type in "daltonross@ew.com" or whatever.

(Actually, it's even funnier to me that someone's pretending to be Dalton Ross.)

Very true. If they're faking it, though, I have to say they did a good job... dross@ew.timewarner.com is just unobvious enough to look official.

But yes, it does add that extra touch of hilarity.

I'm actually hoping that someone's pretending to be his manager too. *g*

Personally, I think Dalton Ross should be sued for managing to make The Hot Sheet even less funny than it already was. But that's just me, I suppose.

I picked up the EW with The Village on the cover last week. It's the first one I've read in a couple of years. Bloody horrible. They used to be amusingly snarky and moderately hip. This was just sad.

I went out with Dalton Ross about 10 years ago. He worked for Caroline Records at the time, then went on to write for various punk magazines. He has a small one, and he kinda looks like Jay Leno.

Muahhah.

Ahhh, Ken's just jealous that Kevin Spacey's the one everyone remembers from that show.
