NYers for Holding Hands
abraxas_seeker posts a sort of silly, sort of immature, but harmless suggestion as to how to protest the upcoming RNC in New York.

The crowd goes crazy. Accusing her of everything from being silly to oppressing the Republican Party and of course with this come the usual bad spelling comments.

Anyway, 178 comments and still going - pretty funny stuff.

As for me, I'm starting to get scared that I'll be protesting with a bunch of loonies.

Oh wait, they are my fellow native New Yorkers - Yay! And Oy and Vey

It doesn't seem like an exactly *useful* suggestion, but it's not disruptive and oppressive, either...I wouldn't have a problem with it. Not even as a form of protest. let's all hold hands and SING!

Also, all the people who freak out at the use of the word 'womyn'...eh, I think it's pretty flaky, but having eleven different people point this out when it's already been done? As if the poster weren't doing it on purpose? Stupid.

After reading Once Upon a More Enlightened Time (sequel to Politically Correct Fairy Tales), I can't see the word 'womyn' used seriously without bursting into a fit of giggles.

U is for Umbrage at the slightest trangression.
V is a Valentine, tool of oppression.
W is for "Woman," however it's spelled.
X is a chromosome we share in our cells.

Erm...I'll stop now.

Hey, I don't mind. Protest all you want. But I have to be at my office on 55th and 3rd at 10 am each morning.

So keep in mind -- protest as much as you like, but don't fuck up the traffic.
