More DamnPortlanders wank:

I heard some local artist complaining on the radio, today, that her sculpture was stolen and she was "creeped out" by that fact. She was saving money to go to New Zealand, or some shit. Complain to the starving and hacked people in South Africa, while you are at it.. 'cause I'm sure not going to give you a rat's ass of concern.

Artists are so prima donna.

Oh yes, because artists can't ever think about spending money on themselves like the rest of us! Nooo, they've got to be *better* than anyone else!

And, of course, nobody should get upset about having things stolen from them because nothing belongs to them in the first place!

Dude. My brother is an artist. Being an artist is not a stable career. While he does have a day job, any and all mony my brother makes from his artwork is going towards him supporting himself. Were his work to be stolen, he's losing out on money.

If this were written by a thirteen-year-old punk wannabe, it'd be hilarious. This guy's 39 years old, which makes it sorta sad. But still funny, don't get me wrong:

Want to know about me? Ok:

I am an antinationalist. Nationalism is what causes wars.

I think Will Ferrell is very uncoordinated and I don't think he's funny at all.

Then again, I never thought Eddie Murphy was funny (except his standup show "Raw").. and I've never liked the Beatles. Ok.. I liked a couple of their songs when they started experimenting with drugs. Oh, and I don't think Marilyn Monroe is pretty.

And I never wear Nike clothing.. but that's mostly because I don't like the swoosh symbol.

I had a girlfriend who held her hand up high and flipped off the american flag that was waving on the preview screen in a sold out movie theater a few weeks after 9/11 (we were a 1/4 of the way up front and center), and I was proud of her for doing that. Dissent is what being an "american" is all about.

OMIGOD HE'S SOOOOO SUBVERSIVE!!1111!!one hundredeleven!!!

Me, I'm a baby! My mother was just an ickle lil baby back then! But I'm totally legal now, really!

Anyway, the Beatles dislike is therefore forgiven. One can't ask more from a Stones fan ^_~ nevermind the fact I like both, actually...

He's a real ladykiller too apparently:

"Through having been told by many different women that I have been with intimately, I know a woman's body, sexually, better than any man they've been with.. and sometimes better than they know their own."

"I was once asked if the reason I'm not attracted to overweight women is because i am "too good" for that.. No, not too good, it's like the difference between preferring Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey ice cream over Cherry Garcia. I like Chunky Monkey far better. Then she asked me if a large woman lost all her excess weight and came to me after my knowing she was once fat, if that would make a difference. Well sure, I'd just say "Now you taste like Chunky Monkey!"

God, I hate people like that. I was on a very chatty mailing list (still am in fact) and when I mentioned being grateful that my cat's surgery and tests revealed that she did not have cancer and, though this was far less important, that the bill was $300 less than I had thought it would be, some asshat decided to tell me that even so the total was still more than some people in the world had as their yearly income and that he wished the entire world were guaranteed the same standard of living as an American house pet.

I hate people like that too.

Yes, it's unfortunate that the world revolves around money. But, guess what, it does. It's a little thing called civilization and in order to keep it from collapsing, we need things like money to keep most people in order. Yes, it'd be nice if everyone did things for the greater good, but, lets face it, people aren't wired to work like that.

Anyone who bitches on an internet mailing list about such things needs to shut the hell up. If they're so unconcerned about money, then perhaps they should stop spending it on things like the internet and a computer. They don't need either of those things to survive, so perhaps they should put their high-minded ideals into use and not buy them.

Fucktards.

Yeah. I make a piss-poor Marie Antoinette. The only furniture I have that was bought new I had to build myself from the kit, and I put the cat on VISA.

It's a VERY chatty mailing list. I'm sort of freaked out that he objected to the surgery on the cat, instead of my going to cons and buying nice clothes (because I don't want to have to buy them all *again* next year). I mean of all the things I spend money on, this is hardly the most frivolous.

My sister works as a receptionist at a vet. They have had pets get left there because the owner couldn't pay thier bills and people refuse to pay for needed surgeries or drugs because they were expsensive. It's not even like the office she works at are billing Nazis -- they are perfectly willing to work out installment plans and such.

So, yeah, I like seeing peopel who are willing to pay for their pets -- you own an animal, and it becomes your resposibility.

Exactly. I work at a vet clinic too and...yeah...vet bills blow but if you own an animal it becomes your responsibility because it can no longer survive on its own.

And again, if people are going to bitch about taking care of animals, then they can get RID of their computer and their internet connection and all those other things that THEY don't need and THEN they can bitch. Only, they can't, cause they can send things to the mailing list. Which is fine because no one will miss them. XP

*ponders* My brother is in Portland right now. I should have him find this guys's house and lift a few things to bring home as souviners.

Like, I really wish someone WOULD go steal a bunch of things from this guys house because you KNOW he would throw a huge hissy fit, call the police, and make a big deal out of it.

And, also, a moment of artistic wankery: his art's not good enough to be worth stealing anyhow.

It's always so easy to have lofty disregard for money when there's plenty to eat and no-one's threatening to turn off your electric and you don't need malaria medication.

Other times, not so easy.
