I'm sure those of you who've been raped or know those who have are going to love this!

More here

Gee, I guess we should all start having "rape fantasies" now. But, of course the only evidence the person has is a generalized article about "conditioning". Oh, I know it's possible to control body temperature and heartbeat and all that rot, but aren't those people usually in situations where it's not sudden? But, anyway, no other evidence is shown. Telling, ya?

The rape fantasy.... gene?

Hold on, I think that E. O. Wilson, S. J. Gould, and Richard Dawkins want to take turns hitting this guy with a stick. Which is pretty impressive, getting them all to agree on something like that.

Ok, the researcher in my brain won't let my go back to work until I get a little more in depth here... leaving aside the outrage and suspicious motives of this joker, lets examine the thing scietific-like.

1.) Paraphilias, kinks, and fantasies - genetic at all? No evidence that I'm aware of. Can this guy point to one single study showing that a given fantasy, or even a generalized prediliction to be kinky, shows up at a higher-than-average rate in separated identical twins or the biological children of kinksters adopted by vanilla people?

2.) Where's the advantage? Does rape happen often enough among primates for this to be a consideration? Granted the difficulty of defining rape in a creature with a pre-defined esterus period, Sapolsky says he has only observed violent, out-of-season intercourse resulting in injury to the female once in over a decade's worth of observation of baboons, and I'm not aware of it appearing as a larger factor than that in great apes - can this individual point to documented evidence that it is? Does the kind of physical trauma resulting from such events statistically often result in a decrease in fertility? I'm not aware of any research suggesting it does. If it did, would lubrication alone be enough to mitigate the damage, or is the damage done because the attacker is intent on inflicting physical abuse and is therefore independent of the physiological reaction of the attackee?

3.) What kind of crack was the theorist smoking? What degree of purity? Or was it powder cocaine?

Well we all know that a woman's true purpose in life is to have as many babies as possible. If she can't do that then she's automatically worthless. /-sarcasm

Yup I see we got ourselves another volunteer for my ' involuntary neutering' program.

I wouldn't know where to start. His complete lack of understanding of evolution given it's highly unlikely there's a *gene* that controls (most) particular psychological kinks? Of the difference between physical reactions to willingly imagined psychological stimuli, and physical reactions to externally imposed, non-consensual physical stimuli that happen to bear a surface resemblence to the former, and how thing one ain't going to condition your body to react with pleasure to thing 2? Or the part where vaginal-wall damage causes women to be unable to give birth and thus guarantees that women whose bodies enjoy being raped will survive to pass on their genes? Being raped might cause some women to never want to come near the male of the species again, which might affect the evolution of future generations, but then, so might reading this guy's theories.

(Which seem mostly like an excuse to encourage women to indulge their boyfriend's rape fantasies whether or not they have heir own...)

Geez, I hate it when people rape psychological theory.

OK, classical conditioning. Fine. But what is the exact stimulus? What rape fantasies and role play condition women to respond to is a loss of control that they can get out of. That's pretty specific. Add the terror of a situation in which there is no safe word, no ability to open your eyes and make it go away, you have a very different stimulus. These would predicate two different responses.

"Rape" is not a simple stimulus. It is a word that describes many different situations. Rape fantasies are an entirely different set of stimuli, with different psychological meanings. This simplification of rape is characteristic of those who choose to remain blind to a persistent and prevalent social problem by claiming that "some women like it," and, my favorite, "you can't thread a moving needle" (if she had struggled hard enough, he wouldn't have been able to penetrate her).

Er... sorry. Used to be a crisis counselor. Dealt with all of this shit, and then some. Nothing new under the sun, and all that.

I (for lack of a better word) love how bioillogical's response to "I had rape fantasies, and being raped hurt," was "That's because your rape fantasies aren't designed properly."

Damn. She ought to have planned out her kinks more carefully.

I'd be worried if I ran into someone who had accurate rape fantasies. There'd be way more damage than a bumped cervix going on there.

Reprehensible as I find his theory to be, I'd be more inclined to hear him out if it made any fucking sense. I don't think he actually understands anything he's saying. You keep using that word, "conditioning." I do not think it means what you think it means.

I'd wank on, but my wrist is tired the OP seems to have been protected now. Sadly, I can't remember a lot of the specifics of his post. The intense boggling I was doing dumped it clear out of my brain. All I can remember is how much it hurt when I attempted to internet slap him in his internet face. Hand + monitor = NOTP.

Dear person who never had logic in school ever,

If a woman fantasizes about rape, she will train her body to respond to a "forceful sexual situation" sexually, resulting in a lubricated pussy (see Pavlov’s dogs).

Suppose I am willing to spot you this whole extremely questionable thing, even though many women have trouble lubricating even when extremely aroused, whether through physical or mental stimuli (hence the sizeable market for KY jelly).

Suppose I just let you have that one, even though it makes about as much sense as saying, "people who daydream about eating an ice cream cone so fast that they get an ice cream headache will salivate when an icicle is stabbed through their upper palates."

Suppose I'm willing to take as an axiom for the purpose of this discussion that [woman X enjoys imaginary rape scenarios] implies [woman X will get wet when any member of the set of all possible cylindrical objects is forcefully jammed into her vagina despite the fact that she does not want it there]. Suppose I give you this particular A implies B as a freebie.

If a woman is raped who does not fantasize about rape, her body will not respond to a "forced sexual situation" sexually, resulting in a dry pussy.

This bit still doesn't follow. A implies B does not mean that not-A implies not-B.

In this case, not-A implies not-B also doesn't happen to be true. Some women do report having experienced some lubrication during rape and report never having had rape fantasies.

Two other things. First, any original text you write is immediately "copyright you" the moment you write it under most copyright laws, you don't have to say anything to establish it. Ideas, however, cannot be copyrighted.

Second, you are a dumbass.

What the fuck is up with "Natsukisgirl" or whatever the fuck her name is? I don't know about you, but if some "handsome, charming, sexy guy" were to rape me, I WOULDN'T GIVE A SHIT! Because his ASS would be GRASS! Last time I checked, rape is generally brute force and the likelyhood of just "getting over it after being physically ok" is extremely slim.

Who hopes to get raped? Rape is non-consentual. Christ.
