My first wank! Love me tender.
It all began in Mock the Stupid (what, you're suprised?) where a member of the community posted an article about a plane that was evacuated because of some scribbling in Arabic on a magazine. Most people would agree that this was stupid.

However, there is always that one person...

[info]gentlesatyr posts that those involved "should be beaten with metal poles", [info]zonekeeper both takes him too seriously and seems to be missing the entire point of everything, and the wank explodes from there.

Oh, it's all there in the Arabic, I just left it out in the transliteration. "Howa" is the second word from the right. (Means "he".)

*squee* Thanks. I happen to be very, very much in love with the game, and when I first started on LJ, I made a whole bunch of icons. Which I haven't gotten around to uploading all of them here yet, but still. Anyway, they're free for the taking, if you want any, and I always offer to make a different symbol if you're interested, 'cause I like spreading the Hunter love.

I love it too. My finacee is happy because I went to one game and then got seriously addicted. It's about the only RPG I've had the chance to play much (the Cam keeps letting nearby venues of various sorts die *cries*), and the group I'm gaming with has the collective attention span of a gnat, so I keep trying to get them to game, dammit.

Plus, being a gamer chick is great for the ego. I seriously recommend it for girls who want to feel hot and stab things while they slowly go insane. *nods*

I might take the bystander one someday... will credit then.

Oh my, yes. I love being a gamer chick - I work out my aggression by mentally figuring out the best way to blow things up. :P My group is entirely female, actually - we've had guys occasionally, but none for long periods of time. I'm actually the GM (for my Hunter game, at least), and I love it. :)

I hope you can get a solid group going - gaming is such a fun, creative pastime, and has actually really helped me in writing fiction.

Yup, here's a link. Unfortunately, White Wolf isn't printing it anymore, because they just ended the world it was in (I do believe there was wank about it, too :P ). But you can still find it in most gaming shops, on Amazon.com, and on ebay.

I find it less gothy and angsty than the rest of WW's stuff. Not that it's not still angsty, but in a more 'realistic' way. And of course, it's all in how you play the game. The basic idea is that certain normal people can suddenly see and recognize monsters for what they are. They are also given some powers, though nothing like any of the other supernatural games WW has. But different people react differently to their new powers.

I could go on and on and on about it, 'cause I'm so in love with it, but I'd probably bore you. :P Still, I highly recommend it over most of the other WW games and most of the D20 games.

Hunter: The Reckoning. It's less gothy, that's for sure, though it is a bit angsty since most of the characters die horribly, 'cause they're so overpowered. :P There are... 12 books, I think? More than Changeling, less than Demon. I've gotten them all, and as a word of warning, in case you're ever interested in getting some of them - the Survival Guide and Utopia both suck. A lot. They're better than some of the crap written for the Vampire line, but they're pretty bad. The rest of the books are pretty good, though.

As a side note, I really like how little power the characters get. It makes them rely on using them in interesting and clever ways instead of just powerhousing, like Werewolf or Vampire or Mage.

You didn't find Mummy angsty? I thought it kind of was, but definitely not gothy, which is always good. I've never played a reoccurring game of it, though, so I guess I don't have a good base of reference.

Also, I feel very geeky, talking happily (okay, being a gushing fangirl) about my gaming preferences. :P

Oh, and incidentally, when I'm writing down story bits in public, I occasionally transliterate them into the Arabic alphabet 'cause I'm paranoid about people reading my smut. (I don't actually know a lot of Arabic, but I do know the alphabet, and I can transliterate fairly quickly.) In fact, I've often been on airplanes and scribbled story bits in in-flight magazines when I didn't have a notebook on hand.

OMG THAT TOTALLY COULD'VE BEEN MY SMUT. AHAHA.
