Anne Rice wannabe
A short while ago an article was posted about a woman hired to do an art project for a library who ended up misspelling the names of people Like Michaelangelo and Einstein.

She said she was gonna go back and fix her mistakes but well...

*Insert Anne Rice crack here*

There are times when there are really no words except for "bitch, please."

I wonder how she'd feel if the library switched some numbers around in her check?

Really.. I would expect there would be some legal way to make her fix it. That's just crappy work there. If someone was hired to make a credit card machine and it only got 'the idea' of the money requested they'd be sued up the wazoo. Seriously lady. >_> I feel indignant for the town.

I figure the best thing to do is hire another artist to fix it

You think pointing out errors will make an artist ballistic, try letting some other person adulturate her baby...

"There seems to be so much hatred within certain people. They continuously look for a scapegoat. I guess I am the sacrificial goat."

Yeah, can you believe people? Blaming her for the misspelling just because she spelled the words wrong. Those haters.

I think she meant continually. Even the really hate-filled philistines have to sleep and pee sometimes.

"The art chose the words," she said.

So now the inanimate objets d'art are speaking to her?

And if they were paying her $40,000 to do this, I'd be damned sure BEFORE she did it that she knew how to spell the damned things... I say sue her ass off! =)

"The people that are into humanities, and are into Blake's concept of enlightenment, they are not looking at the words,"

Oh no! They've hurt her Blakensian principles!

The art chose the words?! *points to icon* Er, someone remind her that spelling isn't art. There's nothing subjective about it. You spell it right or spell it wrong. That's that. No artistic liscence involved.

*wipes up*

When I was 10 years old, I was excited about going to a new school. Mom bought me a nifty denim-covered three ring binder and a bunch of puffy paints and said, "Go forth and be creative." (or something)

And I misspelled my own damn name on the spine. And didn't realize this until about two weeks into the school year when people kept putting an extra consonant in my name (I've got a double consonant in it, and I accidentally put three).

Even at age 10, I knew it was no one's fault but my own. Except maybe my parents, for giving me such a damn weird name.

But then, I'm guessing this chick has the emotional maturity of a 7-year old if she can't handle the jibes she damn well earned.

heh. this wank is local, so it's exploding all around me. =)

the truly crazy thing is, on all the design proposals and sketches and everything that the city of Livermore signed off on, all of those names were supposedly spelled correctly.</> so one has to wonder -- did she deliberately screw up the names, like to make some kind of Artistic Statement about literacy or some such shite, or is she really just a stupid Artiste who didn't care to spellcheck the installation and is trying to backpedal by calling it Art and OMGWTFBBQ NO ONE UNDERSTANDZ????

she apparently IS going to fix the spelling... for another 6 grand.
