gentlesatyr is a bit of an intellectual snob (*coughpotkettlecough*), likes to stir things up, and is seldom, if ever, willing to concede ground. We got into a spat on the meaning of the word "trilogy" over on lj-comm grammar_whores and it was just about the stupidest thing ever, on both our parts.

dkogan was being a tool for insisting that "evil" means whatever s/he wants it to, also.

Honestly, there are so many worse things wrong with *so many* corporations that all the Starbucks hate is really a waste. As multinats go, Starbucks is practically the freakin' Girl Scouts. But it's easier to get in a righteous froth about your favorite local coffee shop going under than to care about, oh, media consolidation, no-bid Iraq rebuilding contracts, or systematic discrmination against women.

I am unqualified to comment on the quality of Starbucks coffee, since I am a tea-drinker. ;)

	My sister works at Starbucks, and she really likes the worker's plans, like health care and all that. And the thing about changing their ways when they were called on bad practices shows that they were willing to listen. Of course, they still charge 4 bucks for fifty cents of coffee, but still. 	They also sell Fair Trade coffee, which is why I'm happy to buy my morning cuppa from them. (Now if only they'd stop making the coffee so goddamn hot, I'd be happy. Gr.)
