.....wtf? I found this, and had to bring it here.

Yay! I'm a Juggalette and follow the Dark Carnival!

You cannot make this stuff up. I swear.

deadgirlcerise: the Dark Carnival is really hard to explain. In order to go to Shangri- La (heaven) when you die, you have to like the group Insane Clown Posse and all the other groups on Psychopathic Records. We're all called juggalos and juggalettes.

reallyoldpunk: Sorry, Dark Carnival was a really good death punk band from Mpls, MN. (mid 80's) ICP is just a bunch of prophet wanna be's. Clowns, geez, give us a break!!!

amarasmiles: As a pagan I truely believe you cannot feel such things as harshness or harmfull action or words, (it takes time & practice) but this cannot bring you the peace you seek. Do not waste words on deaf ears, expand your heartstrings & know kindness.

wickedklown17: I lost faith years ago be4 i wuz turned on 2 ICP and the powerful message they preach.

nandibella: Dear Gigolos and Gigolettes,
Congratulations on finding faith in what I suspect to be either a joke on the part of ICP (to see if people would actualy go for it) or an exceptionaly lame marketing ploy.
Anyone who knows anything knows that the only true faith is found in the immortal words of ABBA.
I am a Dancing Queen of the seventh order.

Backstory, curtesy of [info]leto

It's a mini-wank as they go, and old too...but it's a 'wtf?' sort of reaction.

Random, that's the word. Random.

"...but what do you think ninjas were thinkin' when Noah was running around with a long ass beard and a wooden staff?"

They were probably thinking, "why am I in the fourteenth[ish] century BC in the Middle East instead of sixteenth century AD in Japan?"

And probably something along the lines of "Damn its hot here."

Of course Noah would be wondering wondering what happened to his boat and why he's being confused wiht Moses.

As a sane human being, I'm reasonably certain you cannot feel such things as words, too.

Wasn't the Dark Carnival that thing Mommy Fortuna had in the Last Unicorn? Or was that the Midnight Carnival?

At least it is in the book, I'm not sure if they changed it in the movie or anything. It's been a while since I last saw the movie.

Dark Carnival was an early collection by Ray Bradbury that is worth a ton of money. The Dark Carnival bookstore in Berkeley(?) was named for it.

I lived in Berkeley for 18 years and I ain't never heard of no Dark Carnival bookstore.

But there are a fuckload of them, so. My favorite is called the Other Change of Hobbit. It has a mural on the front involving a cat in a spacesuit.

I think Dark Carnival was where I found my very first Doctor Who books, back in the late 70s. There was a little basket of STAMP OUT STAR TREK badges by the cash register. Comics and Comix was on Telegraph, and a lovely place back in the day.

There was a comic book store on Telegraph I used to walk to after school sometimes (it was only, like, three blocks away) but I never actually looked at the sign. Or bought anything, come to think of it. I read most of Bone in the corner, though.

Other Change of Hobbit! I went there this summer! It's where I got my copy of Smoke and Mirrors and Hat Full of Sky! That place rocks. (And they've got a kitty, who sat on my lap and shredded my knee. *fond grin*)

I LOVE that kitty! They had a scare for a while when it got sick, I think it was some kind of cancer. I donated a dollar to the Help Kitty Get Well Fund or something. It was a long time ago. That kitty is like twenty years old.

I know I've run into this girl before, but I'll be darned if I can remember where. It was several years ago, though, before I found LJ. She was on some e-list I was on, and the people on the list very patiently tried to explain that a band was *not* a religion. Looks like it didn't take.

I own all of the ICP cd's and find them to do nothing but poke fun at acts that most bible thumping goverment officials have told us are wrong, like murder, rape, and exessive drug use.

That whole gay marriage ban issue? It's just a front. The Bible thumping are really trying to distract us while they secretly legislate away our rights to make snuff films. Damn the man! Free the Geranium tapes!

Wow, their moral code is very sophisticated.

"For example, if I stole a toaster from K-Mart that really ain't shit. Nobody really suffers over that. If I stole YOUR toaster, that's wack. Cause you don't get to have any toast tomorrow morning. That's a greedy and a heartless thing to do. I believe shit like that is evil."

[info]bubosquared

Because it's not like K-Mart loses a lot of money each year because of people thinking it's fine to steal from big corporations, money they then "win back" by not giving the lower echelon workers a payrise or anything.

Um, sorry. Wank button, there. ^_^;

That's not wanky, that's true! Whichever fat, rapping clown that was in the interview, he's such a meathead.

While I don't endorse trolling, sometimes I daydream of trolling their boards with pictures of sad clowns and Eminem/ICP slash. If you so much as mention Eminem to the "Juggalos," they go nuts and threaten to kill you with hatchets. Stealing toasters is wack, but murder is not.

So long as Limp Bizkit is around, there needs to be someone they "feud" with who is visibly lamer. Since even the trashcan playing clown from Slipknot could kick Fred Durst's pasty ass, ICP must stay alive, so that he can look cool by comparison.

You're... you're kidding, right? People actually *worship* ICP? (okay, I know that's not the proper explanation, but still) And don't realize that everything that comes out of their mouths on the record is complete bullshit?

Geez, I liked "The Amazing Jeckel Bros", but I'm not about to go out and start trying to worship the path to Shangri-la and shit. O_o

Wow.
