Of Bunny Bondage
Chai posts to [info]bunnyowners looking for advice on bonding her rabbits, an unneutered opposite sex pair. From the sounds of it, they’ve already been doing some bonding, if you know what I mean and I think you do. Bom chicka bah wah wikka wah...

"They sniffed, chased, SHE mounted HIM and BIT him! Then he was biting her too, and then he was mounting her, and it was all a big craziness

Anyway, yeah, please don't tell me to get him or her (or both) spayed/neutered/whatever because I'm not going to, and I have my reasons for that."

Of course that's exactly what she's told, and she doesn't appreciate it:

"You know what? PLEASE stop talking about it. I'm not stupid, I jhave researched rabbits (specifically dutch) for at least 4 years now, I have owned rabbits ALL my life. I WILL do what I want to do, but I thank you all for your advice, and I'm sorry you all must act like children in this matter."

The wank spills over to a new thread.

Hurbledurble has some fun at Chai’s expense: "Female rabbits will bite the erect penis of a male rabbit when left alone, thus killing the male rabbit by excessive blood loss."

Chai: "When it comes to bunnies, learning is limitless. Thanks for the information hurbledurble. ^__^;; "

bending_unit: "So is stupidity."

Upon reading the entire wank, I have to say:

OH MY FUCKING GOD THIS GIRL IS TOO STUPID TO BREATHE.

Sixteen AND broke AND living with her grandparents AND has two rabbits AND a baby, as one of the smarter posters pointed out.

The others can work on her getting the rabbits fixed. I'm gonna take up a collection to get HER fixed. Stupid people should not breed.

It's cool though, she's now 17 and the baby lives with the much older dude who knocked her up.

There aren't enough /sarcasm tags for this post.

Holy rabbit wank, Batman!

Man, these people really love their bunnies.

Two

I know full well that posting in such a way does no good, but I can't help but be outraged and horrified that you are being so irresponsible with your rabbits. I work at humane society, and see hundreds of rabbits come in every year because of people like you.

I hope to God you come to your senses and realize what you're doing is utterly reprehensible and irresponsible to the extreme.

Pages

You are being completely irresponsible and you are being completely unfair to your pets.

And actually intelligent people DO change their opinions, it's called LEARNING.

Of

Great. Wonderful. So, your rabbits gets into a fight, one of them starts bleeding, and your going to do what, hope the staff takes pity on your imbicility and offer you a freebe? And not getting care for your pets because you have the willies about blood, sorry, but that's just stupid.

Correction, I'm not sorry, you are being stupid. If you are unable to find means to care for a pet, you should not get a pet. Period. End of story.

Smackdown

And next time, before you spout your "concerns" about having a rabbit spayed, you try spending a night holding your rabbit as she dies of uterine cancer at age 3 years, because her previous owners were too irresponsible to have her spayed. You listen to her scream as she convulses, and then finally lays still, eyes clouded over. You put her in a shoebox with all her favorite toys and bury her in the woods in the pouring rain. You cry over her poor little body until your eyes swell up and you can't cry anymore. All because some jerk was too lazy to take her in for a simple surgical procedure.

made me laugh out loud. Good thing I don't have any rabbits, I think. It's just so... with the burial in the rain and her poor little body... sorry... *giggles*

How does getting spayed prevent cancer? I mean, sure it wouldn't have had a uterus, but that's just one thing. Who's to say Bunny wouldn't have gotten, say, skin cancer? Or bladder cancer? Or anything else?

Rabbit wank.

I think my life is now complete.

We asked about getting our rabbits neutered-- uh-- fifteen years ago and the vet advised against it. Did he think we were too poor or has technology changed that much or what? Does anyone know? I would ask in the comm but, er, no.

From the implications in that post (yes I read it, yes the chick needs to stop breeding.. ANYTHING) the technology has changed. They implied solo rabbits are fine un neutered, but neutering helps with bonding with other animals - kinda like cats, really.

Somewhere in there, one of the posters said that a few years ago, the surgery wasn't exactly safe, and that they had been advised against it for their bunny. I guess the surgery has improved greatly.

A dog we found recently was gay. (We ended up giving him back to his owners after we located them.) Mom called him Mr. Burns, but his real name was Chico. I actually didn't like him; he was a little dog, and he bit me.

Ultra-conservatives bring signs insisting that Mr. Burns chose to be gay and is going to hell.

this is making me miss our rabbit. Because there were no females to hump, he'd chase after the cats, corner them, and then hump them. Maggie never gave up fighting him, but after a while, Orange would just lie there with a "get it over with already" expression on his face.

Our rabbit never actually caught the cat... gives me a whole new respect for the mean old lady.

She'd sit just out of reach on the sundial, swatting at him with soft-paws and giving him this "What the shit is UP with you?!" look.

Tragic story of doomed cross-species love, really.
