Royal Wank
Prince Charles handed down some royal spooge to British Peons in the form of a memo!

Taken from The Mirror
"What is wrong with everyone nowadays? Why do they all seem to think they are qualified to do things far beyond their technical capabilities?

"This is to do with the learning culture in schools as a consequence of a child-centred system which admits no failure.

"People think they can all be pop stars, high court judges, brilliant TV personalities or infinitely more competent heads of state without ever putting in the necessary work or having natural ability.

The last statement just drowns one in the amount of spooge that spews forth. Particularly coming from Prince Charles.

Patiently waiting for his mother to die.

The irony. It burns.

Yeah, 'cause it's such a bad idea to entrust jobs into the hands of people who, y'know, aren't proven to be inbred.

Yeah.

The sad thing is, I think he had a valid point in there somewhere amidst the pomposity. Not everybody can do everything and there is kind of a trend of trying to insist that they can, because it's not PC to say "You're a lousy artist/plumber/administrator".

But considering the source? Uh, right. 'Cause you're so qualified for... whatever the hell it is you actually do, Charlie. *tweaks ears*

You are right. There is a valid point in there. Not everyone has the talent to do everything.

But, if you read the whole memo, he's talking about a job that isn't one that requires an unusual talent. It's over a woman who wanted to move up in a government position within the Royal secretarial staff.

Besides... waiting for your Mum to die can be so tiring, don't you think?

*pinkie out*

This is the problem. He usually has at least a valid point. But then he keeps talking, and spoils it, or you realise that hey, this is Prince Charles that's talking, and whatever he'd talking about automatically becomes null and void, because of who he is.

But he is very qualified for what he does. Which is making good points seem bad, handwaving, talking to plants, and trying to get mummy to drink her almond-flavoured tea. And there have been worse King-In-Waitings.

Well, the work thing I understand cause in order to get anything you have to work for it.

But saying people shouldn't be stars or judges or whatnot just cause they don't have natural abilities is t3h st00p1d. ;p They can LEARN these things!

Well, he did say they'd need to work for it. But, for instance, some people just have crappy singing voices, no matter how much they practice. I sympathize with the "you are NOT a special snowflake" sentiment, but...Prince Chuck's no prize himself.

1) Costs us a fortune.
2) Makes millions off the back of the county of Cornwall--the poorest county in Britain (EU Objective 1 Region in 1999)
3) Does everything he can to prevent wind farms and wave farms--despite the fact that we could provide all our electricity (this is a *windy* island) and change from them--and calls himself an environmentalist.
4) Battles modern architecture and promotes Twee!Britain--as long as he doesn't have to live there.
5) Is a hypocrite, a parasite and, frankly, HUUUUUGLY.
6) Provides us all with endless entertainment and sharpens our famous dry wit.

Charlie, if you didn't laugh, you'd cry.

I think it all just has to do with a defense mechanism. I mean, there was some kind of study about incompetant people(GAH! I wish I had the link!) and it was about how people that were incompetant always tried to hide it and never admitted that they were incompetant. Don't want to lose what they're trying to gain, I guess.

It's like being weak. No one wants to admit or accept that they just might be.

At least that's how I see it.

I lose that link on a regular basis. Luckily, Googling for "incompetence study" or something always finds it again, because it is relevant to so many discussions.
