Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Current mood:Goofy

Tiny but tasty
More fun on babaa! Cripes, there must be something in the NeoCola this month.

Background: Neopets.com runs these plots every so often where there's a War on, and you can sign up with one side or the other and have your pets fight monsters to score points for your side. The latest one just started, and apparently the monsters have poisoned weapons this time, so your Neopet can get cooties if they take a hit.

This is too much for leathermenace, who announces s/h/it is OMG LEAVING!!!1

A few people suggest that s/h/it chill. leathermenace retorts:

Now are they going to teach us long term war stratagies? Do those of us who want to play in the war have to either let our pets lay sick for what can take days to cure or feel the finacial realities of war? For crying out loud I live in the US! I HAVE GEORGE DUBYAH (can't pronounce the word nuclear) BUSH leading my country! I don't want to think about a long drawn out battle. We are already in one.

Because apparently a) leathermenace, unlike the rest of the userbase, was forced to sign up for the War Game at gunpoint; b) it's totally traumatic to have your virtual kitty get fleas, even though you can't kill a Neopet even if you want to; c) cartoon squirrels versus deformed goats is totally equivalent to Iraq!fiasco.

Whee, overreaction.

Admittedly, it's fuzzy pink CRACK, but the only really scary thing is the players. Heh.

Yes, the players are scary because the majority of them are batshit insane. The site is scary because it's cocaine-addcitive.

Exactly. I don't suppose you've been on the boards lately, have you? Prime spooge there. Someone's going around and getting report happy if you say the word 'crap' in a post because OMG TEH CHILDRUNZ!!!111

[sighs] Whatever happened to the days where you actually helped people?

I had to leave because food prices got to be ridiculous, and the stores would sell out so fast that you have to have broadband to keep up, and at the time I was on dialup. Suppose I could go back, but I've always figured my Neopets aren't dying, they're perfectly capable of foraging. ;)

You can always put the little buggers in the Neolodge. Feeds them automatically and is only slightly more expensive than feeding them omelette day in and day out.

I haven't used the game shops in probably three years. It's completely ridiculous.

*waves* Same here, I never ever feed them I just wait till they are dying and then put them in the cheapest lodge for a day. Works each time :D
Plus that I really wouldn't be bothered if they werren't painted because if you leave them to starve for too long they turn blue. So hey if you want a blue pet don't even feed them :D

When I think about neopets right now. I see a bunch of battle battered neopets hanging out the windows of poverty ridden shacks trying to heal on their own while their owners try to make neopoints to heal them...

I was expecting him to go on about how those neopets are now turning tricks on the streets of Neopia to raise cash for their healing springs addictions. Teh angst!

Won't somebody think of the fluffy, pink and purple, winged DISABLED WAR VETERANS?!

I was expecting him to go on about how those neopets are now turning tricks on the streets of Neopia

...I think I've actually seen a fanfic like that.

Am I the only one who's pretty much living in the same conditions I was before we went to Iraq? Isn't one of the criticisms of America that no matter what we do, we've got this nice way of life cushion that doesn't really change much?

Hell, I wish we had felt the economic realities of war. Bush is like the only resident who can go to war and it doesn't boost the economy.

I do admit, though, that the Iraqi War cooties have been especially nasty. *itches*

Much as I know intellectually that not everyone on Neopets is a ditzy blonde middle-schooler, that's... really quite sad.

Ahahahahahaha. Hah. Huhn.

Wow. I'm willing to bet this person has never seen the shelves and shelves of war strategy games at his/her local Target (I was in there tonight, they have a crapton). Because, yannow, no one likes those, right?

Whatever. *wants to see some cute, fuzzy bomber-figher action, y0*

Happy now.
