Personally I think Oronoda is just bitter because she can't wear super skimpy clothing without looking like a complete cow, and naturally takes it out on prettier women.

Of course there's people who may have done foolish/stupid shit, but I am getting sick to death of the "oh, but they were sort of asking for it" because they're NOT perfect little angels.

No matter what rape is about, IT IS FORCE. That means the person did not want that to happen to them. Not even a fucking burqua will stop a rapist.

The clothing is nothing but a pathetic excuse, and those who try to use that as an excuse should be pistol whipped.

I wanked about this in comments, but this argument just makes me go 'eh'? I'm not a stupid person, but it seems like issues get conflated here.

1) Girls who dress for attention and are really flirty annoy some people.

2) Rape.

I don't really see why the first has anything to do with the second. If it were proven that this sort of behaviour invited rape, then I might get it, but I don't really think that it does. I don't know stats so well, but from what I can tell, this isn't really true. Yet, the 'well, she was acting like she wanted it' argument is always brought in...why? That is such a subjective thing anyway. I've heard that excuse used with regard to behaviour that is in no way provocative enough times that it's lost any power that it might have had.

Also, if some girl is wearing a short skirt and tight shirt, and she's flirting heavily with someone, why does that then follow she wants to have sex WITH YOU?
