Mini autism wank
my first post here--please delete if inappropriate.

Someone [info]metaquotes a journal entry (by an autistic person) that features the line “We don't need the skills it takes to be "normal"; we need the skills it takes to be different.” Parents of autistic children, and at least one other autistic person, weigh in. Debates develop on such subjects as “how do you know how high functioning the person is?” and whether or not they should let their children run into the road. The wankiness arises from what I suspect must be deliberate attempts to misunderstand each other, since some of the people fighting seem to be on the same side of the argument.
