Well, I'm totally against animal rights.

I'm pro-animal welfare, i.e. humane use of animals: not abusing animals sadistically, making sure they have adequate care, etc, while they are being used in labs or on their way to become food and clothing, and making sure that pets are taken care of properly.

But I don't want the concept of animal RIGHTS to get a foothold in the law. It's a different thought process.

Also, I think there is a big difference between fucking an animal by force and allowing an animal to fuck you.

I um, did some online research for this story I'm writing about Sirius and Narcissa Black when they were teenagers, and basically, from what I have read, it's possible to forcibly fuck a dog, but not so possible to force a dog to fuck you. Unaltered male dogs like to fuck and I don't think they care what they fuck.

Is it disgusting? yes. But I'm not sure it's abuse, and given that the police are spectacularly uninterested in arresting and trying the man who wrenched my arm last month in a cab, I'm really annoyed that dog-fucking is a higher priority. (I know, I don't live in the same community, but the thing is, here in uberliberal SF, it would probably be worse--they would probably take dog fucking even more seriously compared to crimes against, y'know, PEOPLE.)

Use of animals != treating animals like trash.

Just because we use animals for our benefit does not mean we are disrespecting animals and looking upon them as "objects". "Use" is not synonymous with "abuse".

Raising chickens for food is not abusive. Method-of-raising maybe, but not the actual raising itself.

We also already have laws on the books regarding the treatment of animals, and which animal uses are acceptible and which are not.

We cannot - legally-speaking - do "whatever we please" with animals. Not without consequences.

Case in point: dogfighting, cockfighting, etc. Both use animals, and both are completely illegal or soon-to-be-made completely illegal.

I do have a problem with raping preschoolers. I just don't think the example you gave is an example of raping a preschooler. It seems more along the lines of allowing a child to explore it's sexuality in a way that the mainstream of our society would unthinkingly condemn despite the lack of evidence that it would actually cause harm to the child.

That is, I don't think letting a four year old boy hump you is rape. The fact that the four year old is attempting to hump you pretty clearly indicates consent on the four year old's part, and no force is being used. So, where's the rape?
