Bad Pagans! No Cakes and Ale!
Oh, nonfluffypagans, what would I do without you?

Firstly, _electric asks if people personally find eating meat unethical. Commence the Wank. Now with Part 2!

Also, happydog proceeds to lecture that that fandom and "pagandom" are a bad mix, urging us to purge Buffy and SCA from our religion. I'm guessing he'd look badly on the MLPs in my beliefs.

They might be nonfluffy *snork*, but they sure aren't non-spoogy. Eris is pleased today.

I, too, follow the teachings of Gusty the raging bitchpony.

Wait. I missed something here.

Gusty the Raging Bitchpony is the best. But I generally give much love to Golden Delicious, The Pony With the Golden Apple on Her Butt.

Who knew there were different sects of Bitchponyism?

Bitchponyism. It's like Christianity, in a way.

I respect all living things. Doesn't mean I don't eat them. What am I supposed to do, live off of air?

You could do that.

It's called "breatharianism".

And yes, there really are people who are breatharians...

Anti_Vegan - occasionally you do learn something from it...

Just not for very long.

Or you could do that thing where you only eat what's died naturally. Fruit fallen off the tree, very old cows, roadkill, et cetera. Except you kind of have to become a vulture, just hanging around tasty things waiting for them to die.

I'm not a vegetarian because I love animals...I'm a vegetarian because I hate plants.

No, you *didn't* state your opinion. You clearly mocked.

How can they make that sound like a bad thing?
*feels confused and rejected and in need of moral guidance*

Deforestation isn't caused by people eating plants.

Why do they blame veggies or cows? Everyone knows it is caused by Saruman who wants firewood for his forges.

Those scenes always make me cry. I know he's evil, but why did he have to kill all the pretty trees????? *sobs*

it always drove me nuts when a so-called Pagan... could not attend a Sabbat or a moon... because it conflicted with an SCA event. ... THE SCA IS NOT A RELIGION! Either you worship the gods, or you worship a game. You choose.

Yes, because if you're religious, you may not have any hobbies EVER.

I think if circles simply banned hobby-talk, people like myself and Happy Dog would be a lot happier. It's that discussion which degenerates into 6 people talking for hours about their kingdom or province or whatever the fuck the SCAdians call their organizations and the two of us who don't do that wanting to put a hatchet through their skulls... yeah, that. Because entirely too many people seem to equate circle with SCA.

I would also like to add Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings to this purging.

There's Paganism in either of these books? I didn't get that memo...

Oh well, leik you know, there's a lot of pagan imagery in Lotr because Tolkien (that well known follower of pagan religions) decided to invent a religion that people fifty years later could follow!11!!11

Or, he was extremely interested in ancient myths and legends and borrowed heavily from northern European mythology and littered the text with Christian symbolism.

Ack. I have this urge to release the Balrog on them...
