I considered it, but I wasn't involved, except as the plauge-bearer. I instead made popcorn over the flames and logged out of LJ to avoid commenting, and adding to the spooge.

I wonder if the fact that most viruses have an incubation period of up to 14 days and that by the time you get the symptoms, you've already been infected for a couple of weeks will make a difference in all of this. Cold symptoms are a sign that the virus is weakening, 'cuz symptoms are caused by the defensive actions of your immune system, NOT the virus, so by the time you're coughing and hacking, the bug is pretty much on the way to Virus Heaven.

The chances that she got sick at that particular party from a person who is showing symptoms is, er, rather slim. She probably got it in the office or on the bus in mid-December.
