12:58p - Your icon offends me!
My first post, be gentle with me ^_^
Found this at the Dilbert Feed on LJ. Poor Dilbert, he is the home of much wank. lorelesabrhagen posts a comment about Monday's Dilbert comic and happens to have an icon of two men kissing. rpgod2 responds by saying "Your icon offends me. No one wants to see that disgusting act. Leave homosexuality to the only place its welcome -- Hell." People respond and call him ignorant.
BTW, all of rpgod2's icons are guns
ETA: Why yes, rpgod2 did compare it to 9/11: "On the note of being opposed to something: If my icon showed the World Trade Center in smoke after a plane hit it, and someone was offended by it, would you be calling them a fool right now if they stated that they were offended? Of course not."

2:32p - Newbie here- was this one done already?
Apparently, librarians have to put up with enough crap without being stereotyped, darn it all to heck!
And here I thought the shushing action was cute.

5:37p - Eesh.
Okay, so, this happened back in February, and I've been holding onto it, waiting for any possible residual flames to die down.
There is this one person who was on my LJ friends list. She also went to a couple IRC channels I frequent. A few years ago, she was ... shall we say ... unpredictable. Basically, she'd come on, and you could say the same thing to her on two different days and get completely opposite reactions, ranging all the way to screaming, bitter hysterics. I had a few minor altercations with her, all pretty much her fault, then she disappeared for about a year or so. She came back, was infinitely calmer, and much more pleasant to talk to, and everyone thought the change was for the better.
Fast forward a little bit, to this February. She makes a post about how she's contemplating trying acid, and two people express concern about this. She then proceeds to write a longer, somewhat bitchy post that completely slams said two people for being the slightest bit concerned. One of said original two posters, a friend of mine, points out that he's still concerned, and she pooh-poohs him. I step in, and pretty much everything blows up.
The names have been changed to One Hundred Years of Solitude characters mostly to protect the innocent and guilty, plus I felt like it. There were a few more comments, but I didn't have them in my log and said journal has since been deleted.
