2:25p - omg u lying shit!!!!1
I love how the customers_suck community occasionally becomes a steaming cesspool of wank.

The regular posters aren't bad about it. The lurkers, however, are without a doubt the biggest bunch of bastards evar (not that I'm biased, oh no). Any sort of controversial post is somehow picked up by their radar, and they all come running to offer their self-righteous, asinine opinions on the subject at hand, and wank so hard the topic is brimming with spooge. And they wonder why customers hate them.

Case in point: )

With the rate that flemco's posting and alienating everyone within a three hundred mile radius, the wank has the potential to explode.

Sometimes I hate that community. People are too damn serious.

3:27p - Wanky? Quite possibly. Weird? Absolutely.
Over on LJ's Necronomiphiles community (for fans of HP Lovecraft), a chap with a bizarre icon, by the name of chironsrequiem comes in to invite members to join his ratings community.

Normally this wouldn't be terribly wankworthy, excepting for that it's deliberate trolling; the ALL CAPS posts make it, I think, along with the constant potshots at the moderator.

If the Mod does respond to all the potshots, it may get wankier still; or, alternately, it may be deleted...

3:39p - fake!wank! *boggle*
Okay, I don't know if this counts, but I'm dying over here. Feel free to delete my OT ass. I just... had to share.

So nominations are being taken for an awards ceremony in the near future, here. Right? But hardly have they begun when an anonymouse jumps in to sling mud at a nominee. Nominee flies off the handle and throws a diva fit, friends and random bystanders join the fray, accusations are hurled...

The kicker?

These are Sims. Or people pretending to be their Sims, rather.

I'm just waiting for the entire thread to go up in a ball of gray smoke.

7:27p - Abuse abuse_lj_abuse abusers! Or something!
mandapanda642 accidentally posts in abuse_lj_abuse, thinking it's a community about actual, physical abuse. Supposedly, everyone and their grandma tells her she's a fucktard for posting in the wrong place. [I assume the original post she made was deleted...?].

She gets pissed off and posts there a second time.

A highlight from said rant )

Unfavorable responses abound, yet again )

7:38p - First wank ever...be gentle!
suckyfucky is excited about finally seeing Queer As Folk.

Except for those nasty lesbian scenes, 'cause lesbians are DISGUSTING!

This would only be a little wanky in itself, except it's posted to bisexual_world (probably not the best place to post anti-lesbian messages).

Not much wank yet, but it's small. And of course, the original poster hasn't come back to comment...yet.

ETA: Posted too soon: Another post, calling for replies to suckyfucky's post.

ETA: Oh, it's not lesbians that she hates. Just dykes. And you're so stoopid if you didn't get that!

ETA: Annnnnd...yet another post.

8:47p - w00twank
I was being goaded into reporting this to F_W, but Jesus, I can't think of the /usr/bin/w00t community as a fandom. Maybe this technically belongs in i_wank; I'll happily move it if requested. Anyway...

The Otakukin community wank from yesterday made me laugh so hard I decided to do a strip featuring an Otakukin.

One thing I love about the w00t community: as webcomic LJ communities go, I think it's safe to say mine is one of the quietest, calmest, and sanest out there. There've been a couple of twits, but mostly limited to the "OMG FIRST POST" variety.

True to form, the discussion stayed intelligent almost all the way through. The first commenter pointed out the Otakin community. A couple of people responded along the lines of "jesus god these people are nuts" and left it at that. I step in to ask them not to go trolling, just in case. Which they couldn't even if they wanted to as the community has locked its comments down, apparently, but never mind that. The discussion is calm. Life is good.

And then:

agh. Otakin/otakukin! The bane of every otherkin's existance.

Hoo boy. )

11:25p - Stupid people. Stupid, stupid people.
Small wank, but it's young, there's potential here.

not_kosher posts to macintosh, claiming he's taken his former-boyfriend's ibook out of spite as the ex took a bunch of his shit. Only problem is he needs the administrator's password to do anything with it, and is hoping someone in the community will help him hack it.

The problem? Apparently he previously posted (in a deleted post) that he actually found the ibook on the train. The story's only changed because no one would help him with his request before except to tell him to turn it in to the police. And he didn't bother to remove the original story from his own journal.

As I said, small but amusing, and comes complete with grammar nitpickiness and don't-go-holier-than-thou-you-software-stealers wankiness.
