4:05a - Deviantart Wank
How one little unicorn in a paper dress started a flame war....
It all starts innocently enough - user Klar uploads a new piece of artwork that is admittedly unfinished lineart - says so in the description.
All is well - there's a couple of posts of the usual bland praise, until Myphrill posts the following:
"i like it but i think it could use more colour and definition"
First on the scene is Klar's friend, fan and fellow artist, Sashamya, who declares Myphrill's comment to be fightin' words:
"and you could use a more shut the hell up."
Myphrill indignantly responds, citing his experience/credentials as an artist. Sashamya splooges. More people join the fun. Klar herself gets involved way down the line. It's a lot of name-calling and unsubtle jabs at the talent and education and sanity of the players involved.
My favorite line:
Klar: "Are you calling me american? i'll fucking boxfight you"

Over in the Etiquette Hell Forums some-one starts a thread called Bad additudes, wanted to post stories about people being rude to kids.
In the second post Yankeegirl70 posts about an incident in a store where a man got too close to her son and she reacted by screaming at him and accusing him of beind a pedophile(she move her son twice and gave the man a "look" before screaming
Yankeegirl's original post
Some people appauled her actions in defending her son, others call her rude stating she should have spoken up before screaming at the man.
The OP changes some details and adds others and some people become convince the man was a pdeophile, while others are not and explain how a false accusation is damaging. It's getting close to 400 comment and shows no sign of dying soon.

3:27p - Fat people are lazy, y'know.
Run-of-the-mill customers_suck post. The OP's comment that "Anyone over a size four and white should not wear a bright orange suit...(I have nothing against bigger women, it's just that our store for some reason finds the most hideous colors, etc. to make clothing out of in that section)" set off warning bells as I was reading. Still, all is well for about 10 comments, until dragoness informs everyone that making clothing in large sizes lets people think it's okay to be fat. Features include a tangent about capitalism and a claim that if fat people ate right and exercised, they wouldn't be fat anymore. Righteous indignation abounds.

11:04p - Sixapartgate: bobbin' and weavin' (and wankin')
Bradfitz makes a post to lj_maintenance. A post that starts off with...
So apparently there's this rumor going around that's making people run for the hills and archive their accounts, effectively killing the one remaining database cluster (Chef) that's not InnoDB yet.
And that's all he has to say about the rumored selling of his soul LJ to SixApart.
LJ users come out of the woodwork to suggest that maybe it's time for him to give a definite confirmation or denial.
Also see use of ginormous font to drive a point home, someone who should probably find a hobby that doesn't involve teh intarweb, the obligatory 'wah me poor can't pay for lj' comment,, one short and sweet call for Jihad, and lots of "duh" comments from people who didn't read the damn post and want to know how to back up their journals.
5 pages and counting.
UPDATE! It's true. Better get your splooge-resistant hip waders out, folks.
