1:15a - mmm, feed-wank!
So on the bbcnewsworld LJ feed, the following headline/summary appears:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/click/rss/0.91/public/-/1/hi/world/americas/4289925.stm
Canada's prime minister confirms his country will not participate in the US missile defence system.

[info]synthetikmisery is quick to prod: Thanks Canada. While you are at it, please let more terrorists through your borders. (mm, I smell conservative!)

[info]circesissy bites: right because insanely expensive missile systems deter terrorists so lets just blame everything on canada!! (left-wing?)

[info]balalajkin, despite the weird-ass name, brings sanity to the splooge.

Small and growing. Whee!

2:22p - bite-size newsblog wank
A frivoulous post in the Guardian's Newsblog about an irreverent pair of British students provokes an angry response from one of its American readers.*

Basically, these two students plan to travel across the States breaking all the unusual and seemingly redundant byelaws they can find.

A mildly amusing 5 minute read for a Friday afternoon )

*I can't link to the individual comments, so you'll have to scroll down. It's only short, I promise!

4:42p - It started off innocently, and cutely, enough.
Background: a mother decides that her daughter's an artist. She makes a DeviantArt account. She puts up her four-years-old daughter's for view. People complained about the, well, scribblings.

Mummy dear retaliates!

Just in case of bahleetion, I'll paste the retaliation in all its glory:

My daughter's a REAL ARTIST! Artist, damn it, and don't you dare criticize her! )

Takes the "MY child can do no WRONG!" parental delusion to a whole new level.
